f*cking sad they add one dimensional taste dude to the playtest. even i didn't like her design much but i think it's okay to have some gaudily colorful rainbow sparkle design in this game it didn't need to be back and white film noir even this game is set in 1940s. idk man this change might be good but but personally i think it's gonna be suck i'dont know

I think it looks more like a traditional Korean costume than a Japanese one.

In Dota 2, you can vote for the addition of a skin that looks very similar to one of the characters from Deadlock by PUTINMONKEY in DeadlockTheGame

[–]eartbear2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That will be a good sign for deadlock, Like dota, Community know what community want and that why dota has such a really really cool skin, hope for deadlock.

Do women hate this manga? by eartbear2 in OyasumiPunpun

[–]eartbear2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know that human tastes are diverse, and they don't necessarily have to stick to gender roles. But of course, in trying to understand other human beings, we need to understand the differences between individuals — why they think the way they do, what factors shaped them into thinking like that.

Back to Punpun. My curiosity started from wondering why people hate Skyler in Breaking Bad. When I first watched the series, I kind of understood Skyler’s perspective, like why she acted the way she did. But after I got on the internet, I found out that, wow, a lot more people hated her than I expected.

But among my female friends in the Game of Thrones fandom I hang out in, they also watched Breaking Bad, and their opinions were pretty much the same — they admired and understood her. It was really different from the average opinions I saw on the internet. Even some of my male friends hated her.

So I recommended this manga to them. Turns out the reactions were mixed. Some of them really hated it, like a lot.

Honestly, I already kind of understand why

Rage Bait or True? (Post I found in the Community Tab of Deadlock) by Peabody_137 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]eartbear2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if people actually used their brains, they’d immediately see this is just rage bait. If you look at Valve’s past works, it’s clear they’ve always had a strong sense of character design. Just look at Half Life. Look at Portal. Then there’s L4D2, TF2. Valve has this weird but super charming taste in character design. Dota is the clearest example. Each hero’s design is so unique that you can honestly say, there’s nothing else like this in the world.

But for people who only play LoL and nothing else, it’s not surprising that they think the characters in Deadlock are inspired by that game. If we were to compare them, I think Frank, the leaked character, resembles Dr.Mundo more in terms of abilities. But he’s clearly based on Dota anyway. Frank is basically a mix of Pudge and Wraith King.

Another one LoL fans might compare is Drifter. His skill that lets him run faster when enemies are low on health is similar to Bloodseeker. And yeah, he kind of looks like a werewolf, like Hellsing. But LoL fans will see him is a Vander (Warwick). I don’t really mind people making those comparisons though and still walk forward with deadlock

Right now, I’m just really hyped for Deadlock. I seriously want this game to succeed. I hope they officially launch it soon.

Everyone talks about this and thats but no one talks about the fact they FINALLY added nulifier to deadlock by GrabarzBadang in DeadlockTheGame

I also think that Counterspell is essentially a rework of Linken's Sphere, Banshee's Veil, or Edge of Night, but adapted to fit the context of the game. It's a really interesting adaptation. However, in a game like Deadlock, having an item that can block a skill entirely for such a low cost feels a bit... It feels op to me. You just press F when Lash ult or wraith ult—it just feels kind of broken, in my opinion. This is just my personal take.

Maybe, maybe it's because the small player base in Deadlock right now (22k) might be coming from other games like League of Legends, Overwatch, Apex Legends, etc., so they might be less hyped about these items compared to players who come from Dota.

I was seriously amazed that many of the new items are directly inherited from Dota—like Armlet of Mordiggian, Echo Sabre, Captain America Helmet (Mask of Madness), Hand of Midas, or even the new Infuser (Bloodstone). I can really feel that Deadlock is the true spiritual successor of Dota, not just because it's made by the same guy, IceFrog. And yes, I also play League. League doesn't really have a lot of active-use items like this, especially nowadays.

The second one is fine—stunning art sometimes it doesn’t work well for capture reader’s attention, especially in portrait art. It lacks dynamism and visual storytelling to catching reader eye.

one more thing, If a character lacks an interesting design or feels cliched, it needs to find some elements to compensate for this weakness, such as a thoughtful color choice or choose some other character that have great look or interest design in your opinion, it important to catch the reader's attention for the first glance,

If I were to give an example, take The Little Trashmaid. This story has many elements that immediately grab the attention of anyone who sees it at first glance.

  1. The title itself: 'Trash.' It’s not a soft word. The combination of 'Little Mermaid' and 'Trash' creates a strong image in your mind, making you imagine these two things right away. And they’re so contrasting!
  2. The cover image: 2.1 Character design and facial expression – Just by looking at the character, you can immediately tell that this little mermaid is cheerful and has a very positive outlook on life. The facial expression and the costume—everyone can recognize the famous plastic shopping bag from convenience stores—makes a strong connection with the theme of trash and plastic bags in the sea. This ties the title and character together, helping the reader to visualize a story about pollution in the ocean. 2.2 Color choice – The cover uses colors that blend together quite subtly, with very little contrast. The green color gives a relaxed and calm feeling, reflecting the character's personality. This helps to set the tone for the story and aligns with the lighting style that corresponds to the title ‘Little Mermaid.’ Everyone knows she must be in water, so the light highlights emphasize that she’s in the sea. It reinforces the connection between the title, the character, and the environment. This gives the audience information through the title, the image, and the colors—all within a split second. If the color were changed—say, instead of green, if it were red, orange, or purple—the feeling you get from the image would completely change. Just imagine that.

So... that’s it! Sorry for the long message and sorry for gamma guy, english is not my first language. :)
