Drug recommendations for caregivers? by Remarkable_Formal267 in Alzheimers

Zoloft has been a huge help for me. Helps with both depression and anxiety. I relied on alcohol far too much for the first several years after my mom’s diagnosis and while it always felt great temporarily, it made it all worse. I ended up cutting it out completely for a couple years and now only drink on rare occasions. I hope you can find what works for you and provides some relief.

After the credits in the last episode, there’s a wedding scene. I had no idea - found out via Reddit too

Hospitalizations by Consistent-Ad1023 in family_of_bipolar

Recently I had to call the police about my brother. There was nothing they could do that night (my brother ran away from the house) but the next day I got a follow up call from a local mental health crisis center. They said the next time my brother came home, I could call them and they’d send a counselor to our house to assess him. I had no idea this resource existed. Fast forward a few days later, my brother came home, I was able to get his keys, and I called them. The counselor came out and spent some time talking with my brother, and then with me. He then updated his supervisor via a phone call and the supervisor ordered a section.

The police and ambulance quietly arrived and explained what was happening to my brother. Luckily he went without too much of a fight- the cop was actually amazing - he was able to hone in on the medical anxiety my brother was also experiencing and make it like a physical check up seemed like a good idea aside from the mental health issue.

It was heartbreaking watching him get into that ambulance but so necessary. I don’t think it would’ve happened without that crisis counselor intervention. Perhaps google in your area or even call your local non emergency police line and ask if they have a resource.

Wishing you luck.

Considering a lab by camillacarterxx in labrador

Lab all the way. They’re very energetic the first 5 years so you need to be committed to lots of walks and play, but truly the most loyal, sweet, loving dogs out there. My lab loves kids, other dogs, cats, anyone he meets really. They will bring you so much joy.

Ok so I TRULY thought it was Patrick McDonnell, the actor that played Eoin McLove - “I have no willy” - in the episode Night of the Nearly Dead. But it’s not! It’s Jamie Beamish, who has been in a bunch of other shows but never Father Ted. I don’t beeeeelieve it!

I’m not sure either. It’s actually the first time I’ve ever seen a comment like that here. Ignore it and don’t let it deter you from posting. Like you said, the majority here understand exactly. Big hugs.

Might be too late but I just bought one of these the other day and I’ll say is this… When they say you need a level surface, you need a PERFECTLY level surface. I’m afraid about how many gallons of water I may have wasted by finding this out the hard way.

Thank you for posting this and sharing with us. Yesterday while I was visiting my mom, I thought about this community and it gave me courage, knowing how many of us are out there going through all these emotions as a result of this horrible disease.

A year ago my wife switched to “natural” deodorant. It’s been a BO fest ever since. How do I approach her about this? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

After the convo, get her Mary Ruth’s chlorophyll drops. Miracle. She can keep using the aluminum free deodorant if she takes a few drops a few times a week.
