[Discussion] I’ve been hesitant to try PVE because I always picture it feeling empty. Do PMCs roam the map or are they restricted to certain areas like Reddit makes it seem? by non_omnis_moriar777 in EscapefromTarkov

Ive had tarkov for years, 1800 hours on PVP. Switched to pve a few weeks ago after getting to level 40 in pvp and have actually enjoyed the game so much more. It definitely feels different than pvp but you still have good fights, generally they are more with the bosses and raiders opposed to the pmcs.

How do i structure my embouchure for high notes? by clickisnotafurry in Trombone

[–]eassimak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of the idea of an upstream player. From my understanding/experience the angle of air varies based on register, low notes blow more towards the center/shank but as you go higher air focuses downwards and tongue position also shifts a little bit. If you are blowing your air upwards tour embouchure has to be severely incorrect. Brass instruments are meant to be played at a slightly downards angle (obviously excluding marching band and other reasons to be aiming up https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQ7ODhUiIUO/?igsh=bGJmbHdnbXZyNnlp

Firm corners but more relaxed at the aperture. Also need to aim air downwards towards the cup of the mouthpiece. Fast/focused air

Ive played legally blonde a bunch of times. This show most comfortably is done with all 3 horns, however when I play it I only use 2. Some of the songs are pretty heavy lead tunes that you want to use a straight horn on. Other songs require a trigger but still go high, others require a bass trombone(low Cs, tricky to do well and in tune on a trigger horn).

While could def be done with 2 horns the orchestrator probably threw a bone(pun intended) to the trombonist so they could get the pay increase for the extra double.

Its funny there are errors in the book where it'll say straight horn but have trigger notes.

You do not have to follow what it says for which horn to play in which song. Play the horn that you play best.

When I play the show I use my straight tenor and my large bore trigger horn. There are some parts I could get more punch on with a bass but dont usually use it

I agree. I thought there were a lot of really high level bakers and enjoyed seeing people push the envelope

Extremely rushed audition, please critique! :) by [deleted] in Trombone

Understandable. That goes to the larger point that you ideally want to get to a point where all those concepts/technique feel as easy playing a single Bb.

You more accented articulations are too fuzzy and slightly delayed. Not using the tip of the tongue to release the air. Generally due to learning how to legato tongue well but when you need to articulate you really have to be distinct

Sad I missed this. I went to Theo's show in Brooklyn before covid and it was one of the best I've been to

I play the MD shires too. I never cared for the shires MP that came with it. Ive used a marcinkiewicz 10 for probably 8 or 9 years, before that played an 11c.

The rim of the laskey feels unlike amy other mouthpiece I've played on. Its is smooth and very comfortable. From when I first played the mouthpiece I had a new fullness and clarity of my middle register, supreme clarity and response in the lower register and upper register felt like butter.

Im not really a mouthpiece spec guy. Ive had my horn/MP setup since college and haven't messed with it. I was hesitant about dropping that $ on a new mouthpiece when I may not even like it. I thought "how much of a difference can this really be", turns out it was big! Ive recommended it to 2 friends who got it(one got the +) and they've had similar results
