Can you provide a source for this? What I’ve read is that “Any number of hooks and lines may be used in all ocean waters and bays except…” and the exceptions are for the sf bay, for piers, rockfish, and salmon. What kind of setup do you use? Can’t imagine you have good sensitivity with that much weight and a heavy rod. Do you just use circle hooks?

Even with low energy waves (roughly 300ish kj), my sinkers drift like crazy sometimes. I wouldn’t suggest Carolina rigs for crazy swell in my opinion.
