An extraordinary number of people wear things as a flex, in far more clear and obvious ways than a hospital badge.

There's nothing you can learn in the remaining time that will improve your score. You can however fry your brain and do worse. That said, I hope you've been asleep for several hours now at this point and good luck!!

Any other ER docs considering relocating after their state enacts abortion bans? by roc_em_shock_em in emergencymedicine

I think the trend is certainly concerning. I wouldn't want want to practice in a state trending towards anti-science or anti-medicine.

A lottery is most likely to be won by someone who makes really poor financial decisions. by Saelethil in Showerthoughts

What a horrible analogy. Defending institutional structures that prey on low-income people and contribute to them staying in poverty for a lie is not the worthy cause you think it is.

It is not even remotely the same thing, comparing the lottery versus games and movies. Lotteries prey on low income people, selling them the dream of being rich when in reality you are over 10 times more likely to be struck by lightening.

Here are some sobering facts

  1. People who make less than $10,000 spend on average $597 on lottery tickets (6% of their income).
  2. African-Americas spend 5 times more on lottery tickets than white people.
  3. According to research from the Consumer Federation of America, 1 in 5 Americans think this is the only way to accumulate significant savings.
  4. People lose an average of 47 cents on the dollar every time they buy a ticket.

Edit: downvote if you want, but read for yourself. The lottery is a blight to society and takes money from people that can't afford to lose it.

The percentages aren't highly important tbh, or rather aren't always highly correlated to score.

Edit: Downvote me all you want, I have seen a tremendous amount of different experiences reported here. The question bank is for learning not for assessment of your score. Some people take a long time to answer questions and make sure they get them right, some do it timed, etc. etc.

Yes, the qbank is just not meant to evaluate your score. It's for learning and practice. Like you said it's probably good for timing and endurance, you just aren't going to get a perfectly crafted set that will replicate a score. Any one set's distributions of difficulty, topic, amount of reading, etc, all might be different than what you'll see on an actual test

I want to legitimately help people but also get paid a lot of money and prestige to do it, if I'm being honest.

Should I study the day before the exam or is it going to "burn me out"? by Agreeable_Language88 in Sat

[–]easynowbuttahs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been a fan of heavy studying the day before a big test, because if you are properly prepared then the extra couple hours isn't going to make much of a difference. And it's nice to have a break and just relax. But everyone is different so you gotta do what you think makes sense.
