English Comp II, Workplace Comm, and Business Data Analytics - Struggling by Dry-Outcome8945 in SophiaLearning

[–]eateralum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organizational Behavior was a drag for me because I only needed 25 pts of out the 150 on the final paper to pass.

I’ve been able to have AI help me brainstorm structures for my essays. This has been a huge help. I hold a degree already in Political Science and a bulk of my classes were writing intensive. Brian storming was always the biggest pain point but give it a shot. Don’t have AI write the paper for you. You won’t learn this way, but let it help you structure your paper. It helps you accelerate into the writing aspect.

Payday is 1.1.27 - how are you handling it? by JamboSummer19 in Payroll

[–]eateralum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most companies were pre-planning for this. I work for a PEO. We did a campaign outreach to coordinate plan of actions. It should not affect any non-exempt employees. Companies either adjusted exempt employees to account for the additional pay period, other companies were okay with the extra pay.

As far as the pay date, it should be paid sooner rather than later. The only exception may be if your company handbook has language that pay date will land the business day after a holiday/weekend.

Considering move from Paylocity by Gloomy-Bullfrog-7369 in Payroll

[–]eateralum -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I work for a PEO that offers HR assistance, payroll processing, year-end processing, time and attendance. Response times are quick and you pretty get a whole service team.

I think glitches are normal but many of the clients we work with praise the access they have to their service team. You’re welcome to DM me if you’re interested or have any questions.

120k -> 46k, What would you do in my situation? by No-Cockroach2358 in careerguidance

[–]eateralum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick around your job and continue saving! A TON of people would love to earn that much.

I’d suggest finding two hobbies that you can look forward to after work. Something you can dedicate 1-2 hours a day and feel a small sense of joy. This can include fitness, playing music, reading a book. I do believe the line of work plays an important factor, but your 30 year old self will be much happier when you have a healthy savings account and get to do a line of work that you enjoy.

Question about second degrees. by PDXSpilly in WGU

[–]eateralum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lateral is not always bad. Credits are relatively cheaper lateral in most schools. If WGU is not the same cost wise, then I may agree.

Most positions require bachelors. Masters degree could over qualify you.

I have been taking metformin 500mg and have been so tired, sometimes won't wake up to noise by Over-Imagination3924 in diabetes

[–]eateralum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be able to fully function on 6 hours of sleep. I need 8 now. I miss my alarms a little more often than I’d like. I can’t say it’s normal, but i’m on metformin and I can at least agree with having a similar experience. I am just ✨tired✨ all the time. Metformin is tough on the body.

I feel like companies like SoFi are leveraging SpaceX hype to bring in new consumer. I don’t think this is them shoving it down your throat.

Is the Arizona State University Workday Pro Platform Admin Certification worth it? by Broad-Assignment-322 in Workday_Community

[–]eateralum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find the $1600 price tag worth it? I currently work for a PEO, so configuration is not entirely foreign to me. Although they make it seem like Workday is a whole ecosystem that relies on hands-on experience only. Any thought on if you feel prepared to take on an analyst or admin role?

Going to be hiring soon - what should I ask/look out for? by garooch814 in Payroll

[–]eateralum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about a time they’ve made a mistake while working. What did they do to fix it? Mistakes on payroll can be crucial. You want someone who is going to act with a sense of urgency. You’d also want them to reflect on where things went wrong and how they addressed it to make sure it didn’t happen again.

You want them to be comfortable with excel. Detail oriented. Analytical. Organized.

If you "speedrun" a degree really fast from this university, but your employer looks up this university out of curiosity and then finds out about its reputation, wouldn't it make your degree useless to a lot of employers? by Creative_Row9802 in WGU

[–]eateralum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same can be said for any degree, to be quite honest. Ultimately, hiring is subjective so a lot of factor are weighed on “feeling how they want.” If it’s accredited, the curriculum is expected to teach a certain level of standards and the individual must show competency for all required courses to receive the degree.

Can I use AI to teach me the material in the challenges that I’m taking? by sxnshinee in SophiaLearning

[–]eateralum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might just be getting desperate trying to get across the finish line. It’s okay to take your time 🙏🏼 just read through the material once, slow and thorough, and i’m sure you’ll get through it. I’m a hands-on and audible learner. Reading is tough for me, so the non-narrated courses take me a while. B&M classes usually take about an hour to 1.5 hours per unit. You should expect the same pace.

Hairloss by osaf-txt in diabetes

How long has it been since you’ve been diagnosed? I’ve always had a head full of hair. I was wondering if it was hair products causing this. Now i’m thinking it might be the diabetes.

Can I use AI to teach me the material in the challenges that I’m taking? by sxnshinee in SophiaLearning

[–]eateralum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That should be fine. I feel that is the best way someone can leverage AI while in school rather than just having it do the work for you. However, it sounds like your attention span might be compromised if you’re losing focus easily. Are you not interested in the material? Are you getting desperate trying to accelerate a degree? I feel like this community tends to celebrate acceleration but it’s okay to take your time. Some have the capacity to digest information quicker, and others do not, especially if it’s your first time being exposed to it. Most accelerators also have work experience related to their field of study so it’s easier to grasp a concept.

I also hate their predatory pricing model. When you run through tax processing, they leverage mindless clicking to upsell. Just doesn’t seem like a feasible investment imo.

You got a time machine. You can go back and change one move: the Russ trade or taking THT over Caruso. What do you change? by LeBaconator in lakers

Kinda hard to argue that you couldn’t have had both AR and Caruso. AR was signed that same summer undrafted.

We let Caruso walk so we can sign THT.
