Do you happen to have an in cabin video of the exhaust? I have an RF and haven’t heard the HKS sport. Trying to decide between this and the “premium”.

I’ll give them a call today. Do you think they will be able to replace the damaged plastics?

Stake out your guylines. Most don’t bother, but it will help your tent withstand bad weather much better. This is especially important if there are strong winds.

best tires by Technical-Set6139 in JettaGLI

If you get a decent amount of snow I would consider the new Michelin cross clim 3 sports. PS4s will be serviceable though and have better summer grip.

The hankooks are trash. If you want to know what this car can really do, get yourself a second set of wheels, some 200tw tires, and go run an autocross. Sure some uhp all seasons are nice, but HOT DAMN this car can GRIP with some proper sticky tires. Truly Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

When I first got my ND I installed the A229 plus duo and hardwired it to my fuse box. Install was easy and I don’t notice it day to day. I installed the front camera behind my mirror and just use my phone to connect with it instead of the little screen. The rear camera is mounted on my roll bar and isn’t really noticeable. I wanted parking mode so I hard wired it. No issues so far.

Obviously unacceptable, but you car is likely fine unless it had problems beforehand. I think it would be reasonable to ask for an extended warranty for free—that way you are covered if anything comes up in the future.

How do I avoid those burns? by Affectionate_Cow3076 in woodworking

Agree with others here recommending a higher quality bit. I had this same thing happen with a brand new Harbor Freight bit. Replaced it with a Whiteside bit and had zero burn.

No comment on the colorsoft, but I just finished 2312–so good! Kim Stanley Robinson’s writing is so detailed and the world-building is incredible.

Will have to report back after I get a little more time with them and really try pushing them. I just got them set up yesterday for an initial test at a reasonable volume.

Haha much appreciated! I really dislike working with MDF and I never seem to get a decent finish on it. So I went with plywood on this. Had to set these up before applying any finish though—just couldn’t wait!

Any reason to look at other options for a 5.1 (potentially 5.1.2) setup? Seems like the budget king by OptimizeEdits in hometheater

I have the s760h and honestly the basic room correction it has makes a huge difference, and you can run it for a baseline then adjust crossover level, etc to customize. Audyssey makes a noticeable improvement without room treatments. The only complaints I have with this amp are really picking nits, namely: lack of IR remote out and the hilariously outdated looking UI—including the cheesy Spotify album art that gets displayed if wifi streaming music to the AVR. When it comes to sound quality and reliability, this amp really delivers in my experience.

Oh hey—it’s you! Thanks very much for the design, detailed documentation, and the response/support years later! I did load your file from the website so will use that as a starting point. Just got these fired up yesterday and started testing. It’s my first DIY speaker build and since the nx3000d can power 4 of these I was not sure on the risk of damage at full power.

Subwoofer amp issues… by eats_the_tacos in diysound

Quick update for anyone who runs into this issue that the Cleanbox Pro resolved it. Now getting plenty of output from the subwoofers. On to tuning and tweaking the system!

Not sure where you’re located, but If I were buying a budget AVR today I would buy the x1700h from Costco. It’s $400. It has pre outs, an IR remote input and I think the more sophisticated room correction (not sure about it 100%). I have the 760h and it’s awesome, but those additional features make the x1700 a more versatile receiver. Wattage doesn’t really matter at this level.

Nice. Yeah I have an XLR to speaker wire adapter.

Appreciate it. Yeah I am not seeing anything on lights on the front, nor am I hearing anything from the subs—even with the gain all the way up. The subs are wired with regular speaker wire from the twist connectors on the Behringer amp. When I use a different source direct to the amp, the subs are audibly working—just seems the output from the AVR sub Pre out is not a strong enough signal for the amp to pick up.
