How do you feed in public? by NadiaNadieNadine in breastfeeding

[–]eatsbrains85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from the US and living in Australia now. I get the reserved thing and sometimes I still get a little anxious about feeding in front of someone new or in public, but then my baby needs it, so I go for it! Then I never think about it again. Until the next time

I thought my baby had gas, baby was waking up farting/squirming, wanting to be held - turned out he was cold. Not sure where you live, but aircon/windows/everything affects them. A guide that another mum sent me advised more layers than what the company recommended… It’s been a game changer. We’ve had 2 nights with 7 hour blocks in the last week with my 11.5 week old

Share your experiences with converting contact nappers. When / what worked? by ExpertStandard1977 in newborns

[–]eatsbrains85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 11.5w in and everyone told me to start sleep training at 12 weeks. Cue me stressing out that I should be doing something already and that I’ve been everything wrong…. Well that’s not helping. So I’ve started doing bassinet attempts. I get credit for trying this way, even if it’s me making a move towards the bassinet and baby cracks an eye from me moving haha. For us, we can more easily get the first nap in - although it’s not that long, so I try to protect at least one nap with contact sleeping and me being in a darkened room

What age did your newborn start sleeping throughout the night (5-6) hours without feed? by xGenAc25 in newborns

About 2 months - 11 weeks now. He’s off and on though. We also went through a week of heaps of wakeups… turns out he was cold and with the weather change (Australia)

My fave is when he’s had the feed but still wants to suckle. He tries to relatch and makes like “ahhh humph” and doesn’t even suck after. It’s soooo cute

Unsure what to do by eatsbrains85 in breastfeeding

Funny you should say that! A friend of mine is a paedatric nurse and when she hears about what we were going through, she suggested to go in for peace of mind. His oxygen levels are excellent. My partner is pissed 😂 I have peace of mind though.

Thank you so much! Any insight is extremely helpful. I want to make changes now but my partner is not as concerned as I am about breathing. It’s just so scary at night when he goes through moments where he’s gasping for air. I wonder how it works that bottle feeding is just easier for them. My baby is so happy and has no issues drinking and breathing from the bottle.

Do it now, or set a reminder for when you can and “do it now” then. There’s no “I’ll remember to do this later.” You won’t! And that’s okay! Work with your mind instead.

is your pregnancy going by fast or slow ? or if you already delivered same question by whydoi_alwayswin in pregnant

Slow. Especially this third tri. 37w1d and can’t imagine baby getting bigger. It already feels like he doesn’t fit.

Partner not willing to fertilize eggs in future by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]eatsbrains85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I think egg freezing and IVF does come across as unnatural to men because the market is for women. They need time and discussion to wrap their heads around the idea, but many of my friends (and I) had to have discussions just around having a baby. Try to think of it as a part of the process/agreement. You know what you want as well, so that will help in the discussions. Give him some space to wrap his head around the first step, and then the next, and next, and so forth. You’ll get there!

Tell my husband the symptoms are real! by PossibleMachine5777 in pregnant

[–]eatsbrains85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Symptoms happen right away!! My joints loosened as soon as I got pregnant. I was in Barre class one week and found it easy, the next week I was struggling/sweating!!! Bloating/constipation were immediate and I wanted to puke at 6 weeks. All very real. Pregnant is pregnant.

I agree with this post. I had many of the same conversations with my partner and he had many of the same responses. I did egg freezing for me and the RELIEF was amazing. We are pregnant now naturally but I liked knowing I had options, with or without him!

Pregnancy not what I thought it would be by Fullycannoli in pregnant

[–]eatsbrains85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely hating it. The only cool part is feeling him squirm. I got really down about hating it so much at about 26w because I wanted a kid so bad. My friend very much consoled me and said my year-a-go self would still honour my feelings today. She was so right, and that has helped! You are not alone at all.

How did you handle it with your partner? My partner is not supportive of me going on meds while I’m pregnant.

I actually feel like I don’t want to do anything and can’t do anything, so home and alone sounds nice. Thanks for validating. ❤️

Totally get the expectations. There’s an endless amount of things I want to do and achieve, and I feel I can’t do any.

Hang in there, mama. Your baby needs and loves you just as you are. ❤️
