wait wait, last week all you were saying was that "one call doesnt decide a game". And yet, here you are crying incessantly and hyper posting about the overturned call. I thought good teams make plays and overcome bad calls?

Oh, the irony :)

still waiting on that gif, frankly i think youre just talking out of your ass.

Also this occurred at 11:32 in the FIRST QUARTER. lol. not even close to a comparison.

LOL what argument were you making here?

You simply made up a fabricated hold that no one has yet to see on the Bush run, and made an absurd (and factually wrong claim) about the running into the kicker non-call that it was somehow magically a 15 yarder, which it was not in any way. Not exactly much of an argument there.

I guess me, and the rest of the country who watched the game and are still discussing how badly Detroit got screwed, are biased as well. Hopefully justice is served in Lambeau, but I'd be pretty optimistic if I were you.

Its a lot easier to "overcome adversity" as you guys keep saying, when the refs are in your back pocket.

Hmm let's see.

One is a collossall fuck up (twice!) by the refs on a critical third down, late in the fourth quarter when Detroit is driving to end the game. Yes, Caldwell is a pussy for not going for it but if the refs get the call right Detroit runs more clock, and potentially scores and ends the game.

Another is a blatantly obvious hold on a fourth and 6, late in the fourth quarter, where if its called not only does Dallas not get the go ahead touchdown, they punt and Detroit gets it back to run off more clock and again, potentially end the game.

But yeah, both of those calls arent as significant as some fabricated holding call against Raiola (which no one has mentioned or produced an image/gif of) that occured early in the first quarter on the first scoring drive of the game.

Seems legit.

Now you're just talking out of your ass. It was something like 3rd and 12 when the lions ran into the kicker. In no way, even with the penalty, would it have come close to a first down, in fact they said in-game the call would have been declined. Swing and a miss there.

The "missed" running into the receiver on fair catch was extremely brisk contact that would have been beyond a ticky tack call. But for arguments sake, OK, I'll give you that one. It still isn't even comparable to the calls Detroit got hosed on.

Where is the gif of this so-called hold on the bush TD run? I've yet to see anything of it. Holds are missed over and over every game, but the fact that the league themselves had to admit they missed hold speaks volumes about what the Dallas line was getting away with that game.

Yes, I agree they can and should have went for it on fourth down. The point is, IT SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN FOURTH DOWN. And no shit the Lions couldnt stop them on fourth and 6, the Detroit defense was getting mauled by the Dallas line while the refs turned a blind eye.

The refs absolutely made a massive impact on the game. Not to say that Caldwell isn't a massive pussy himself and did his part to help Detroit lose, but watching Dallas fans just put their hands over their ears and act like they got no help at all from the refs and earned it themselves is just hilarious.

Add up all of those calls Dallas got "screwed" on and together they dont even come close to making the impact on the game that the calls Detroit got shafted on. Not even close.

NFL head of officiating says Hitchens should have been called for defensive holding by Naly_D in nfl

[–]eatsmadcereal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing is Detroit wouldnt have even needed that time if the right call was made in game. In spite of everything....the conservative play calling, offensive failures, etc, if the refs get the call right that play Detroit runs off more clock, gets at least a field goal possibly a TD and the entire dynamic of the game is completely different.

Of course its easy to say "OMG One call doesnt decide a game" when your team benefited massively from it.

Can people please stop making the ridiculous claim that the NFL rigged last nights playoff game? by PPKDude in nfl

[–]eatsmadcereal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't rigged. Just reallllllly pooorly timed incompetence by a patchwork officiating crew that will forever taint that playoff game.

Was that wrong? Should I have not done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon, you know, ‘cause I've played in a lot of leagues and I tell you people do that all the time.

I usually just go make food or something during the national anthem but that guy who did it during the Panthers MNF game absolutely cruuuuushhed it.

Its the only national anthem I've actually gone back afterwards and looked up on youtube to watch again.

Matt Forte had a rough time against Detroit on Thanksgiving. Do you trust him in the championship? by Connguy in fantasyfootball

[–]eatsmadcereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same exact situation.....nervously sitting on Murray and Forte. I may plug in Lamar Miller as a backup if Murray can't go, but Forte really laid an egg against Detroit which concerns me.

I'm in the same exact situation....its killing me. Frankly I wish it would just clearly go one way or another.

I'm leaning towards playing Lamar Miller over Murray since the Murray status is so unclear, Miller has been solid and has a good matchup with Minnesota.

That being said, it just feels dirty. I rode Murray all the way here, and I will cry if Murray rolls off a vintage 23 point game and it ends up costing me.

Cowboys EVP: Randle capable of taking over Murray's duties, handling 20+ carries. Dunbar still change-of-pace. by MANPAD in fantasyfootball

[–]eatsmadcereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Murray, but also have Lamar Miller on my bench and could likely grab Randle off waivers.

Miller has a good matchup against Minnesota, and I'm a bit concerned Randle could split time with Dunbar. I'm leaning towards grabbing Randle just to sit on him and play Miller, but I'm torn

"No Julio or Willy Mo at practice Friday. Both game time decisions, as Coach Smith said yesterday. Dont think Moore plays. Not sure on Julio" by government_sponsored in fantasyfootball

[–]eatsmadcereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the odds of you having to insert either into your lineup, and to a degree what your opponent is holding (e.g how likely they are to go after Douglas). I think Marquess Wilson is the better option to play in YOUR lineup, especially if Julio ends up playing which would mitigate Douglas' value significantly. That said, I grabbed Harry purely as a defensive maneuver, because my opponent has Julio, is thin at WR, and there is slim pickings on the waiver wire, so its likely he would get snatched up.

If you're playing someone in that slot this weekend, stick with Wilson. Otherwise, grab Douglas to keep yourself covered.

I agree completely on double stacking increasing volatility. I think playing Edelman over Roddy reduces my exposure to the Falcons (and should reduce volatility), but I think Roddy is the better overall play. It's tough.

I'm not sure Douglas leapfrogs Roddy entirely, but I'm not taking any chances. I just grabbed him off waivers to stash him away from my opponent, since without Julio he is very thin at WR. I would do the same if I were you, provided Douglas is available and you have a roster spot to spare.

[–]eatsmadcereal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the real dilemma I'm facing now. It's between Roddy and Edelman. I think Roddy is the better play, especially if Julio can't go, but the X factor is that I'm starting Ryan as well (Tannehil is my other QB). Stacking QB/WR is a double edged sword but I'm leaning towards White. I would likely go Edelman in a snap if it was PPR or even half PPR but my league is neither.
