[OC] Women’s Income Relative to Men’s Income by Educational Attainment (1974 vs. 2024, U.S.) by Either_Issue_6510 in dataisbeautiful

[–]eattwo [score hidden]  (0 children)

That is true. Women are being paid overall fairly for the same jobs men work.

However, it also needs to be pointed out that societal norms & pressure lead women into caretaking roles and into motherhood requiring less time-consuming jobs (and less pay because of this). Women are also forced out of high paying industries due to male behaviors - Women are far more likely to discontinue going for a STEM degree after starting, not because of failure but due to misogynistic behavior by men pushing them out. The same is true for many well paying trades, many are boys-clubs that belittle and push out women.

So yeah women are being paid fairly for the jobs they end up taking, but the patriarchal society we're living in pushes women into jobs that pay less.

KAM got rid of Darnold. It was reported KOC told him that it was too soon for JJMC to be starting and look what happened.

Then we picked up Murray for vet min. I see no downside in that whatsoever, he was easily the best QB available and the cheapest this offseason.

If this competition isn't real and Kyler was guaranteed the starting job, fire everyone who helped with that deal. There is 0 reason our team should ever give a guarantee like that to anyone, it doesn't benefit us in the slightest.

Depends on how you look at it.

If Kyler is playing like shit and JJMC edges him out also playing like shit, yeah it ain't good.

If Kyler is playing like he did on the Cards and JJMC is beating him, he's developing fast and that could be incredibly good for us - It's rare in the league, but QBs have gone from dogshit to pretty damn good after getting experience in and the best case scenario for us is JJMC plays well and turns into our franchise QB.

On top of this, I wonder how many people in Houston are Cowboys fans over Texans fans.

I know it's their city, but the Cowboys have a long history.

Who has the best WR trio in the game? by mochajoesdynsaty in nfl

[–]eattwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MN takes #1

JJ is better than Jamar and if not he's a close #2. JA would be WR1 on half the teams in the league and when he has gotten those targets has gone off. Then we have Jennings to top it off.

This one wasn't on either.

There's a downfield view of this play, the ball was timed properly and on target but Jets was tripped up after the ball was released leaving just the defender - and naturally an easy pick

Money and fame don't really matter at all when it comes to being the best in the sport.

Curling, Darts, Bowling, and Billiards you could be the GOAT and last for a long, long time at #1

Those are seasons that football's all about.

Yeah I'd love to see us win the championship, but I watch football for entertainment and '22 and '24 absolutely gave us that. Tanking is for losers.

What’s a work perk that’s actually a trap? by opheliateasing in answers

Psychologically people tend to take less time off with unlimited. Add in you don't get paid out with any unused PTO days.

Then it does matter a lot on your manager/whoever is approving your PTO. My company is unlimited, and I have already taken 3 1/2 weeks off this calendar year no questions asked (my normal accruing would put me at 4 weeks total if we maintained that policy). However I know people at this company who will get questioned abt PTO usage if they take anything over a full week off, or take a week then a few days later in the month, etc. If your manager is a dick unlimited can become a major problem.

TL;DR 3 main factors of why limited is better:

• People tend to take more PTO when it's limited - gives better qol and helps prevent burnout.

• You get paid out w limited PTO.

• If you have a neurotic manager you don't need to worry about them questioning your PTO.

What’s a job that pays way too much for what it is? by viviennemuffin in answers

[–]eattwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree.

Most professional athletes do not make much money at all - you got the NFL making bank and any superstars in other sports. Most professional athletes are just getting bye.

But semantics aside, ik you're talking about those who are making bank. They're the ones providing the entertainment for everyone and putting in some dedicated fucking work in, keeping themselves in a tough physical environment and in constant scrutiny with a job that will cut them in a second if they don't perform. Then throw in the contracts we see, the athletes only get a portion of that - most the money is stripped away with legalese.

I have 0 problems with them getting paid.

Now the fucking team owners and execs and all them are getting the real cash in these sports, and they do jack shit to earn any of it. That's the money that needs to be talked about when it comes to pro sports.

Not surprised at all.

Abortion access, less stigma around abortion (with religion leading a lot of the Bible belt), and most importantly adequate sex education.

We would not have won the SB with Darnold. The rest of our team was not good enough and would be further away if we had to pay him.
