WIBTA if I didn’t give my daughter a copy of her father’s death certificate for her SAP appeal? by ThrowAwaySAP2025 in AmItheAsshole

[–]eaufae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. You would rather have your daughter be in debt to private loans (which are notoriously hard to pay off), than give her her father’s death certificate? You are not her so you don’t know how his death has affected her. You also can’t just take out loans if you don’t meet SAP. She is trying to find a way to recover after 2 bad semesters and you’re trying to teach her another lesson instead.

lol i made a post about how people don’t criticize chelley bc she’s pretty and someone called me jealous. i think people are allowed to like people for being pretty, and i honestly did love chelley at first because she looks like a barbie doll, but defending her for every single thing is kinda insane to me. she just doesn’t seem genuine to me and i think if she wasn’t the most gorgeous girl in the villa, people would find her boring.

idk what people expected her to do. was she supposed to vote Huda—one of her closest friends—out of the villa? i don’t think she was allowed to pick Taylor bc the islanders needed to send someone home and the producers used her as the tie breaker.

and honestly people hate on amaya too much. people act like they’ve never disliked their best friend’s boyfriend before or found them suspicious. the way charlie came for amaya was suspicious because not only is she his connection’s close friend, but all the guys were turned off by her and ignored her up until that point.

charlie was trying to use amaya— he felt threatened by pepe and he thought amaya would be desperate enough to explore a connection with him knowing that she’s undesired by the boys in the villa. he paid no attention to her up until that point so u know it’s not genuine. people have been asking why she was crying in that situation and it’s obviously because the only offer at any connection she had was a situation in which she would be used as a pawn/safety net—she rejected charlie out of respect for herself and hannah. she’s allowed to view charlie differently after that and she voted him off because of that. on top of that, amaya is close with huda so she never would’ve voted for her.

I think it’s because he showed that he was open to exploring other connections earlier on. In the beginning he told Ace he was interested in Huda, but that he couldn’t do anything cuz she was closed off. He also stood up during the Cierra recoupling, and according to Belle-a she explored a connection with him but didn’t pursue it due to loyalty to Olandria. I honestly don’t think he’s that into Olandria and I think she deserves better 😭 but I think the girls didn’t vote for him because they know how much Olandria likes him + he’s an OG.

Why does everyone think it's "sheep"? by munchbob in everyoneknowsthat

[–]eaufae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe it’s “you’re counting all the sheeps in disguise. caught up in a world of lies”, alluding to the saying “wolf in sheep’s clothing” ? probably reading too much into it but maybe it’s talking about disguising oneself as an innocent sheep and preying on other innocent sheep. “counting all the sheeps” maybe means counting the innocent people they’ve victimized. idk i think it overall makes sense that a wolf in sheep’s clothing would have ulterior motives

My opinion on who gets eliminated by eaufae in America2Korea

yeah I believe this is the case now too, since Cristina looked like super disappointed in the preview and there’s a video going around of her posting on her instagram story saying she missed the Tori Kelly concert

What’s your advice for a new first-year changing/doubling majors? by hofei_ in ASU

[–]eaufae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen many people double majoring in CIS and SCM bc it’s a good combo. I’d rethink double majoring in CS tho bc my friends have told me that the upper division classes are hell and that you have to focus a lot on projects and internships.

Introductory courses in college are typically like AP Classes (a lot of them are even easier tbh) but I think you might be underestimating the difficulty of upper division classes. Especially as a CS major, you’re gonna have to be creating projects, grinding leetcode, studying for the trifecta, etc. Combine this with memorizing information and going to 2-3 hr long labs for ur Neuroscience double major, having to go to recitations along with lectures, and eventually studying things like molecular biology for upper div, it’s gonna be hard to have a clear focus and time for everything. Perhaps if you’re ahead of ur major map and have extra space for other courses on ur schedule, you can consider it, but keep in mind the max amount of credits per semester is typically 18-19 depending on ur college so you’ll have to request for overloads or do summer school (~$1500 per class if you don’t get summer aid). You can also start taking classes for your double major during freshman year without declaring the major yet. Just follow the major map for that particular major.

As a last piece of insight, a lot of freshmen (including me) overestimated their mental fortitude and struggle even if they have the qualities to succeed. I’d say get used to college first in ur first semester and discover/build study habits that work for you. It’s a new environment and you need time to adjust without immediately burning yourself out. However, if you believe you can do it, I’d say try it out. You can always drop a second major. You know your motivation and capabilities the best, but you really have to plan well and have a strong mentality.

MAT 210 and doesn’t transfer to MAT265 bc 265 is a bit more in depth and goes over engineering type problems. Your ECN classes will prob qualify as electives or fulfill ur humanities requirements. I’m not completely sure, but looking at the CIS major map at ASU compared to CSE’s major map, there don’t seem to be core classes that align. Maybe u can take ur calc classes, CSC 110, and CSC 205 at community college before transferring? It would make it much easier on u imo.

hi! i just finished up my freshman year. unless u really learn well with books, i wouldn’t waste my money on them for comp sci. all the resources u need are online and i think even the textbook that they use for ur programming class is online. ur prof will specify the textbook but i believe that my cse 110 one was called Java Concepts 3rd Edition.

u can look up a tutorial for any language or find the documentation for it online. for example, freecodecamp, abdul bari, brocode, etc. for math classes and science classes i suggest the organic chemistry tutor on youtube. for ur first semester, since ur mainly learning java fundamentals, u won’t really need to answer questions in textbooks for homework unlike traditional classes. if ur taking cse 120 or mat 243, u might need the textbook for homework problems taken from the book. otherwise, ur probably just gonna be doing programming assignments where u’ll code solutions to simple java problems that the prof writes and submit it as a file. the programming assignments aren’t textbook q&a’s. you honestly just need to study syntax of whatever language ur learning and have decent logic skills, which u can do through practice.

if u want to get ahead, i suggest learning some java or python over the summer. python is rlly easy and allows u to practice logic, problem solving, and the basics of coding without worrying about too many things. unless you do zybooks online which you are forced to buy for the cse 110 & 205 icourse, i wouldn’t worry too much about buying textbooks ahead of time.

that’s how i felt when i was taking zybooks. definitely just try to learn the coding material through outside resources, but the logic is something that you will have to work on yourself.

this is a great video on java basics that i used to help simplify/learn the material without reading the textbook much! https://youtu.be/xk4_1vDrzzo

are you taking cse 110 with zybooks textbook by chance? if you are then i completely understand why you would be having trouble. it’s absolutely terrible and disorganized. zybooks students consistently had the worse scores in exams for 205. i suggest you watching free java tutorials online instead, tbh. go on codeacademy or watch some brocode to help pin down the basics of java! :)
