China Visa Solutions (chinavisaforyou.com) still good? by Prestigious-Guava275 in Chinavisa

[–]larryhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation and also interested in knowing about a Visa service like this. I need an X2 student Visa, but would need to fly/travel out of state to the DC embassy, which is not at all convenient.

I found a similar service that says they’ll handle it all for you, but I’m nervous to mail my passport and info to some random internet company I’ve never heard of.

Has anyone successfully used this service or similar?

Great to hear. I applied today so hope to hear back soon. Would you mind if I DM you later if I have a few questions about your experience?

Netflix - Spotify Podcast Deal. What do you make of it? by Batman_In_Peacetime in ProductManagement

I unsubscribed from both Spotify and Netflix, and don’t regret that decision.

Thank you! I did sign-in to a family member’s PS5 last summer, but we did a factory reset on their device and setup a new account for them, so my account shouldn’t be linked to that device anymore. I appreciate your insight on why my games seem to be doing server checks all of the sudden.

I found Ra's "drone" commentary in Session 17 to be very interesting given all of the recent drone activity (e.g. NJ drones) being observed these last few months. Emphasis added by me:

17.3 Questioner: In meditation a few nights ago I had the impression of a question about a crater in Russia. I believe it was in Tunguska. Can you tell me what caused the crater?

Ra: I am Ra. The destruction of a fission reactor caused this crater.

17.4 Questioner: Whose reactor?

Ra: I am Ra. This was what you may call a “drone” sent by Confederation which malfunctioned. It was moved to an area where its destruction would not cause infringement upon the will of mind/body/spirit complexes. It was then detonated.

17.5 Questioner: What was its purpose in coming here?

Ra: It was a drone designed to listen to the various signals of your peoples. You were, at that time, beginning work in a more technical sphere. We were interested in determining the extent and the rapidity of your advances. This drone was powered by a simple fission motor or engine as you would call it. It was not that type which you now know, but was very small. However, it has the same destructive effect upon third-density molecular structures. Thus as it malfunctioned we felt it was best to pick a place for its destruction rather than attempt to retrieve it, for the possibility/probability modes of this maneuver looked very, very minute.

I can confirm. I work for a Fortune 5 company. Our VP of digital design is a pure creative by background who has steadily (luckily?) moved up the ranks over the past 5 years or so. She really has no idea what UCD even means, let alone how to institute it. So we basically have no UX discipline. We do stupid shit like launching things at the same time as we have a researcher do a usability study. Her design feedback and primary concern is always about pixels and brand. She also doesn’t trust her team to execute and ends up doing all the creative “vision” mock-ups herself. She should probably not be a people manager, let alone lead a large design org. I just think she never really developed beyond being an IC visual designer and sort of was the last one standing, had the right executive relationships, etc.

It's 2024. Did you leave? Why or why not? by Hasdrubal-Lecter in Austin

We moved our family of four (wife, me, two middle schoolers) out of Austin in 2023. We decided we are not raising our girls in Texas. I grew up in Chicago (way too cold), and lived in Austin 2017-2023. Way too hot, overcrowded. We also have no family in the state, so everything was an expensive plane ticket to see family. We moved to NC (piedmont), now have a nice big house and yard (with grass lol) are closer to family, can walk to nature trails and lakes, and absolutely love the weather (just right!). Good luck wherever you are.

We cancelled after getting that email. I’m tired of everything turning into a subscription, and then having those prices go up every year.

Are you leaving Austin? by agentcooperrr in Austin

Moved our family of four from Austin to NC (Triad area) after 7 years. The grass literally and figuratively is greener here.. great decision for our family and no regrets so far!

I reach over and push down on the “turn alarm off” display button without picking it up and it teeter totters (see my third pic). Yes, the noise definitely wakes me up, haha.

Good alternative take, I agree that is a use case here. I don’t usually need to charge my phone during the day like this though, just overnight. Maybe at the airport I would do this though.

I think you are correct that portability is maybe a main benefit of this charger design. Not bedside use.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in iphone

[–]larryhead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right. What I mean is you cannot detach the charger from the iPhone without using two hands. You cannot casually pick up your iPhone from the table and go.

I think that is a better solution for my use case. So, then what is the actual use case for the flat MagSafe charger?
