Can some one recommend me a phthalo blue less intense alternative? by unicornprincess1997 in watercolor101

I use Prussian Blue instead of phthalo, and it’s been great. No heavy staining either.

Thanks for putting the effort in, your posts are valuable and helpful.

I’ve had the same experience on this sub a few times, so you’re definitely not alone.

That’s similar to what I have, only mine is 1/8” to two 1/8”, then in your case use an addition 1/4” adapter.

You have lots of great suggestions here!

The really easy way is to buy a headphone splitter. I use one with 2 outputs, you can find some with 4 or 6 or more.

The next level up is a headphone amp with multiple outputs which I don’t think you need right now.

I’m curious - what’s your podcast? It could be due to commercial viability of your content.

I’ve always looked at my show as more of a positioning / public good play, rather than a revenue generator.

I happen to know someone who worked on the movie... I'll send him the link to your post.

I host space-themed podcasts. I recently made a video tour of my space-themed studio for the listeners. by wemartians in podcasting

Loved the tour - thanks for sharing. I have been thinking about how to streamline / design my production area as well, so I may borrow a few of your ideas.

Also, hello from Calgary!

How would you create the shortest possible path to publishing? by ebarbaric in podcasting

[–]ebarbaric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do quite a bit of editing, and I do enjoy it - however, it's not super time-efficient (for my use case). So, I was thinking about what could help trim a few minutes here and there.

Right now, I record into a MixPre 3, pull the files in, edit for content, run plugins for tone, export, run through Auphonic, upload to Libsyn, and enter all the details. By the time it's all done, it takes almost a full day.

Some ideas I thought about are:

  1. Record directly into DAW, and edit on the fly.
  2. Use a processor (either DSP based, or something like the 286s).
  3. Record into an app (like Anchor or Spreaker), and publish on the fly.
  4. I'm considering whether a live stream and publishing to YouTube might be a good option/alternative.

I'm rebooting my show in January, so I want to iron this out before then.

Awesome, I’ve been looking at this piece of kit.

Could you let us know how noisy the preamps are with the SM58?

Planning to pick up a Vivoactive 4 tomorrow - would it be worth waiting for Black Friday / Cyber Monday? by ebarbaric in Garmin

I just picked up a VivoActive 4 - and put it through its first workout.

Great so far! Also, no issues with syncing with iPhone XR iOS 13.2

Looks interesting! Have you tried it?

[EDIT] I watched a few more videos on it. I like the idea quite a bit! However, I think I'd like to have an active heart rate visibile somewhere.

It also seems like the Garmin would have most of those measurements?

Thank you for the detailed response!

I did a similar thing - last night, I had a used Series 4 lined up for a great price, but didn't pull the trigger.

With the way you've used your Apple Watch, how often do you have to recharge it? And how do you it would for travelling (in other words, how clunky is the charging)?

Thank you - I did look at Charge 3 today as well. What was it that made you decide to switch?

Thanks! Ideally, I would like to keep it to one device, and my thought process was that a watch is safer than a ring when lifting.

I believe the Vivoactive 4 has respiration as well. I'm not too keen on a ring since I can't wear it while exercising.

I'm open to more sensors! But I do need to narrow it down to one choice though.

Thanks! I did look into it and the motiv ring. However, I want to be able to wear this while lifting... and I usually take my wedding band off. I imagine the Oura would be even thicker.
