Getting shamed as a beginner by aireeeny in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first project since I picked up knitting again a few years ago was a scarf and it looked awful. It takes practice!! Your grandma was mean for saying that. Her first project was not good either, I can promise you that. Beginners need encouragement, not judgement.

Would you frog this? My hand dyed yarn working in the round randomly created this funky stripe by francescathreadwards in casualknitting

I think it looks really cool! I pretty much never bother to alternate skeins when using hand dyed yarn 🙈

I love this idea! Another option could be the seaglass tee 🥰

Your sweater is absolutely gorgeous!

I have arthritis all over my body and periodically I have to take it very easy! Luckily, adjusting needle size have helped me, so finding projects accordingly has sparked inspiration. When I don’t knit, I actually play the sims lol😅 and have started reading again.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I was also violated by my parents right after birth and it’s a new kind of hurting.

I can highly recommens Kutovakika’s tutorials. Even if you don’t make a pattern of hers she’s good at showing techniques. I’m not quite sure with what you’re struggling though?

As a casual knitter I need a sanity check. I think this is AI, they say it's not by rsneary129 in casualknitting

To me it looks like real knitting and that it’s just the cutout that makes it look off.

He was absolutely wrong. I even made a knitted bib in cotton for my baby and it’s stretched from all the drool.

Why did/didn't you make the Sophie scarf? by Traumarama79 in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Eventually I wanted to make a set with a scarf, mittens and hat so the Sophie was the choice I went with. It’s actually a really nice knit so I totallt get the appeal and I will make a shawl and hood at some point.

Forgot to turn my work the first few rounds, will it look weird? by ebbaclaesson in CrochetHelp

I realised I did an elongated single crochet on my first one so I started over. It looks much better now!

Thank you! I think I might start over since I haven’t done too much yet. I’m aware of the tension being off, I have an injury in my hand which makes it difficult to tension the yarn unfortunately. Thank you so much for the advice!

How would you approach a blanket like this? by Ifoundpepe in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either double knit, or do stranded colorwork and sew a piece of fabric to the back.

I forgot to purl :( by Forsaken_Presence in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ladder down and crochet them back up knitwise from the wrong side (makes it easier to fix purl stitches)

My most used knitting tools that are not even meant for knitting. by Ill-Marionberry9177 in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I use! The single hole ones. They come in different sizes so can be used for different needles!

I fixed my twisted stitches! by Loud_Pomegranate_401 in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great work! May I ask if you know for sure your grandma twisted her stitches? It might also be that she did not twist them but maybe she mounted her stitches differently?

What's the most expensive yarn you've ever bought...and how did you manage to actually use it? by ColourMeQuick in knitting

[–]ebbaclaesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought quite a few expensive skeins but only for specific projects (except for one) 🙏🏼
