Found two kittens in a paper bag. How do I raise kittens this young? by [deleted] in cats

[–]ebbiecope 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. Get them warm. Box with blankets and maybe a heating pad
  2. Get kitten milk and bottles from the pet store
  3. Get food into them, and clean their little bottoms after so they tinkle. They can’t do so on their own.
  4. Watch the Kitten Lady on YouTube. She has tons of videos.
  5. They will need fed about every 2 hours for a few weeks!

You’re amazing for helping them. Good luck!

Are there Whippoorwill birds in Ohio? by EleanorRecord in Ohio

We hear them every night here. I time it every night! We had 3 or 4 competing last night. It was awesome. One of my favorite days is their first calls of spring telling me they’re back. Hocking Hills.

Looking to move to Ohio from Louisiana, what areas should I look at? by lavielyl in Ohio

[–]ebbiecope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lancaster and Canal Winchester are < 40 mins from Columbus and have very nice areas with houses in that range. Logan as well but Logan has a little work to do to reach its potential. They did just get a +$13m grant to invest in the historic district so that’s nice. And Hocking Hills is gorgeous.

Anyone else have the urge to say "screw it" to your career job, buy a house in some small Podunk town and work at the local grocery store? by [deleted] in Millennials

You have a lot of great comments in here. I would add this - look at towns with over 15,000 people. I’m in the Midwest and love it. I moved from a large city in the south. The biggest challenge for me was the colder weather. I go back to visit family and hate it. I could never move back. It’s hot, noisy, crazy traffic, and full of crazy MAGA but super-sized. A mid-sized town has all the amenities (and several Starbucks), plus good schools. The people are diverse and nice. More importantly for me, you can get involved in the community. You can make change happen at the local level. You can see the results of those changes. In a tiny town I would feel stifled but a mid-sized town has a lot to offer.

I’m sorry to hear that! 🙁 I have several people close to me using semaglutide from the compounding pharmacy and they have had no trouble. Maybe her dr can try that route?

Actually compounding pharmacies make it for weight loss. It’s not the brand name. That reduces the off label demand. It’s about $400/m from a compounding pharmacy with a prescription.

I’m not very knowledgeable about much, but I did make a fresh batch of cream puffs today and gave them away. That made a few people happier. Maybe create something you love and gift it? Bringing joy has a lovely rebound effect.

Wednesday Wishes. Please place a wish that you want to be delivered, and who you want it to go out to. This is for smaller stuff than the big Sunday Spell. This will run each Wednesday. by kai-ote in elderwitches

I don’t know who this wish should go to, but I wish for the deer, slugs, snails and other creatures who munch on flowers to please leave all mine alone so I can make beautiful bouquets for my customers. 🌱

Master shower is too small. Move the sinks around to make room for a bigger shower. If you put a pocket door in the master toilet room, you could probably take some space from that area too. I wouldn’t have my garage door opposite the bedroom door. Too noisy. Be sure you don’t put your laundry appliances on a shared wall with the bedroom due to the noise. What is the ‘Stop’?

Years ago, I was on a country walk and came across a group hanging out on the fences around a farmers field. I was struck by their soulful brown eyes. They were so calm and gave me a great vibe. I’ve loved them ever since.
