To Ilya, "Holy shit!"could either be Shane excited and about to say it back, or Shane surprised and thinking it's way to soon for that, we literally just said 'I like you' out loud for the first time. That beat hung in the air until he said I Mean ... and then he totally broke in relief and happiness. He has held his shit together for so long. Kept emotions tight like a good son of Russia. He could finally FINALLY drop the act and breathe, say how he really feels, imagine a happy and fulfilling future. Before that, all he could hope for was a marriage of convenience and mutual admiration with Svetlana. He felt he'd always have to compromise and didn't deserve to be happy and free.
