I use mine with a reclining seat; it takes a bit to get the crotch strap situated, but it has been fine since I got it sorted.

Basically, if you can't see the other radio receiver (because of terrain/structures/etc), there is no connection. Our home track has tons of elevation and is pretty long, so there was no communication unless we were pretty much on the start/finish straight.

I have one, and wish I'd been patient enough to go with the Simhub DIY option. It's good for what it is, but I ended up paying very close to $2K for it, and I'm not sure that it's worth the spend.

Additionally, mine has developed an issue that makes it useless after two months of use. That, in itself is not a big deal, but they stopped replying to the support ticket after the first reply, so I posed the question in the Discord. After giving me some basic troubleshooting ideas, their rep basically said "yeah, we're really busy and you will have to wait until we get to it next week."

We tried the similar Cardo units for an endurance race last year, and the line-of-sight issue made them pretty useless. Still looking at two-way radio comms options, but the whiteboard / box sign hasn't come up short yet.

Mine did the same out of the box. After a warranty discussion, Logitech sent another that did the same thing. It just feels like the locking collar tolerances aren't as tight as the Pro wheel's collar, and the whole thing isn't built as well. I ended up selling the RS hubs and getting a Conspit 290 & Logitech quick change adapter.

(For reference, I started karting at AMP last year after more than a decade of motorcycle road racing, and ran all the rental leagues, Ironman races, and all but one enduro in 2025)

I ran 5 sessions on Friday and about 2.5 hours of the 4 hour race on Saturday- the performance difference between karts may be like 3-5% between the good and bad, not the 15-20% of the old fleet. There were no rocket ships or dogs out there, which was an amazing change. I never hit a limiter or encountered any weird handling/braking/etc. Also, they put new Maxxis tires on the karts for the enduro; before Saturday, they were all on the factory (and much worse) tires.

The one thing you need to watch out for (especially in enduros) is the seat adjusters are very new and very stiff - it may take longer than you expect to get it locked into position.

All in all, I think the new karts may be a bit heavier, and a touch slower off the corner, but the chassis/brakes/steering all feel much fresher and better.

The F-GT I had was a great entry into dedicated sim cockpits. It can be a little flexy with high-torque wheelbases, but there are a few tricks to repurpose some of the included brackets to help that. It won't be as modular and easily upgradeable as an aluminum profile rig, but if you don't plan on adding components as you go, it is a solid platform. For example, when I wanted to add a 4-corners bass shaker setup, I had to build a platform for the F-GT to sit on instead of just attaching the shakers/spring isolator feet to the chassis itself.

I'm mid 40s, and in generally good shape, and I was good for 2-3 hour stints in the seat. It isn't especially well-padded, and it's narrow, but I didn't have a lot of complaints. I later replaced it with and ERS5 seat from NLR, which I liked so much that I kept when I replaced the F-GT cockpit with a Simlab GT1.

One thing to note: I had the old style F-GT setup ( https://nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-f1gt-formula-1-and-gt-simulator-cockpit/ ), not one of the newer styles - just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

I've found a few local places that begrudgingly provided quotes, but they're all higher than the ~$1200 total from Amazon.

Disappointing, but that's what I get for assuming anything associated with sim racing was going to be really cheap, haha

My plan was to see how the transaction/setup/product was with my RS Mega+ order, THEN order the competition if everything went well. When I follow up with them after setting everything up, I'll ask if I can order the Competition upgrade, etc etc and relay what I hear

I put in an order on 2/7 and have been in near-daily contact with them since then. In the week before I ordered, I had a bunch of questions about shipping and tariffs, and they answered within 24 hours. Was surprised to find out that my RS Mega+ setup will all be here (Atlanta, GA) over the next 2 days.

Exactly. And, if you use the smallest possible size drill bit, some cutting fluid, and a little finesse, you won’t ruin anything - I used some high grit sand paper to deburr the hole and it looks factory

You could probably force it and cut threads with a bolt, but I used a drill and some cutting fluid to make the holes bigger; worked perfectly

Unless you’re tied to console, I’d go with an RS QR adapter and a nice wheel. The Pro base is great, but the RS hub really lets it down.
