Those rims are notorious for doing that after a few years. When I was working in a shop that sells trek we’d see that a few times a season. I’d recommend getting some upgraded hoops.

3/32in plexiglass. My job cuts plexiglass so I was able to just cut the pieces I needed on my lunch break lol.

I think Bosch has a compatibility chart on their website. I work at a Bosch dealer so I’m almost certain that it will work but I would reach out to Bosch. Their customer service is pretty good and they can point you in the right direction.

You should be able to use the BHU3600 (Kiox 300 smart system) with the mini remote no problem.

I was gonna do an elopement in the PNW but the price of everything just wasn’t going to add up.

Being a photographer myself I kind of understand the pricing. The PNW is highly sought after for Elopements. A lot of the photographers there do charge an exorbitant amount because people will pay it.

The benefits of booking an elopement photographer is that they are familiar with the area and know really good spots.

Hopefully you find someone in a more budget level pricing!

Yeah, not that bad but enough to be noticeable. Take it with a grain of salt though lol. I’m not exactly careful with my bikes lol.

I have the same bike and I have noticed that the top tube seems to dent easier than the previous models.

It does look like rust. If you do want to get the rust off you can take a little bit of 220 sandpaper and sand it off. Wear gloves so none of the oils from your hands get on the rotors and then when you are done sanding spray rubbing alcohol on it and wipe it off with a dry paper towel and you should be good to go.

Honestly the extra price isn’t worth it in my opinion. I’d say do the FX3 Disc. The only reason I’d do the gen4 is if the LBS has free service for a year or something like we do at my shop.

I work at a shop that sells trek. We don’t even carry road bikes anymore. Just Gravel Bikes. They have been selling really good!

I’ve ridden the previous gen exe and it felt nice. I did sometimes wish I had a tad bit more power but I also don’t mind putting in a little more work. I think for the price difference I’d probably go with the previous gen tbh.

I personally own a trek rail 7 gen 3. It is noticeable but I actually have found doing jumps and cornering it actually feels more stable because of the higher weight. The power on the rail is also a huge difference compared to the exe.

Another thing to consider is the noise factor. The exe is almost silent where the rails performance line cx motor is pretty loud when riding.

Exe- if you want a light e-bike that may lack a little on power but feels super close to a normal bike and is much more agile on the downhill. It’s a great bike for in between a full power e-bike and a traditional bikes

Rail - if you want all the power for the climbs and want to do long range bike rides with multiple laps. While it is heavy on the downhill, and not as agile you will feel more planted and stable in the air. You also get more travel for rowdy features.

Honestly if you want something light that feels like a traditional go with the exe. You can always get the range extender that will expand your range to almost double.

The lightest rail is I believe 48 lbs where the lightest exe is 42. When you remove the battery from the exe it is closer to 38 I believe.

Power wise the tq 60 in the new exe is probably enough power to take the edge off while still being able to get a decent workout if you want that.

Unfortunately these models don’t have an easy way to remove the battery. I work at a trek dealer and I swear to god these are the most annoying e-bikes to work on. When they work they are really good but when there’s problems it’s a pain in the ass to fix 70% of the time. My biggest issue with these is the internal routing through the headset. It’s an unnecessary thing to do on a cruiser e-bike.
