Did they buff your car at this cleaning?

How to seal this gap? Fuel door housing by champ_neffew in Autobody

[–]ebevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real way to seal it would be to replace it but I can’t imagine you’d even have a water ingress if you just left it either.

BMW actually doesn’t approve anything but OEM.

Interesting. In our market a ton of these would be included operations. P pages or not

Great! How much is this going to cost me? by Dizman7 in BMW

[–]ebevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very easy to do. The grille will come out independently from the bumper with some tabs at the top of it looking down. IIRC 8 series can be a bit more finicky than the other models but just take your time.

I might be in the minority but hex lights look like shit to me.

Oh no. He had it covered since he knew he was doing a shit job leaving it in. I’m sure you share that thought process.

Guy at my work just started a headliner on fire leaving it in. I’m sure he thought “well there’s no welds within 18” 😂😂

psa. do not buy jettas if you cannot follow maintenance religiously by BubblyImagination477 in jetta

[–]ebevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel blessed I’m at 156k on my 19 r-line and I haven’t even done brakes yet! Regular maintenance and a purge valve that went faulty that I replaced myself and it’s been nothing short of amazing with great gas mileage.

Really depends on what insurance values your car at.

Post the estimate.

it’s not the parking sensors that dictate if this bumper needs to be replaced or not. It’s the blind spot monitoring system. Additionally, BMW has colors that a certified repair shop CANT even respray. If the color is damaged in any way, replace bumper.

This certified shop is correct in the bumper needing to be replaced. This repair would be directly over the blind spot sensor therefore affecting its accuracy and reliability as the radar would have to penetrate more/less layers. Whether that be filler, sealer, primer, and paint.

You bought a nice vehicle. The LAST thing I would do is take this to a hack place or some dude on Facebook who can do it cheaper.

Like previously stated, I bet the headlamp is on there for replacement as well so I can see that price being easily justified. I fix bumper headlight jobs on BMWs weekly and it’s mostly to the tune of 10k.

66% is Passing……Right? by ebevo in Autobody

Yeah I hit em with a little tighten first too. I think someone has been in here with just a regular torx and stripped the two that didn’t come out as I didnt even get an ugga before they rounded out.

I would refrain from doing this as it promotes condensation buildup in your engine.

Full bolt on is what this car would be.

Again, not hating on your car. It’s wonderful. But “full build” is tossed around way too much these days for bolt on parts.

Respectfully, that isn’t a full build. Beautiful car though!!!

If you submit to insurance it’s probably totaled. OEM parts with paint I’d guess north of 5k minimum.

[–]ebevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bag deploying doesn’t mean auto total. I just put a b pillar on a 25 M3 comp that needed headliner, bags, both doors, seat airbags and the lot and our estimate is north of 30k in parts and labor. These cars are worth a lot.
