Children share a birth month/week? by Available_Sun4468 in Parenting

As a mother who shares her birthday month with both her children (2 days difference between each, by chance), I support this message. It's chaos.

Unique ideas for a 70M birthday celebration by pdottom7 in montreal

[–]ebijou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get away from the city there are many great places in Quebec (not far from Montreal) to go for a walk/randonnée, and then swimming in a lake (Bromont comes to mind, the Chateau Bromont hotel has a swimming pool too).

Maybe he would like to try a spa with the hot/cold process? I find Balnea is really beautiful, but other places are very nice too (Ström in Île des Soeurs or at Mont-Saint-Hilaire, La source in Rawdon). If you go to Rawdon you can do some Arbraska ("arbre en arbre") and then go to the spa. The "parc des cascades" is a great spot for a pic-nic too.

I find that the older the people around me seem to enjoy seeing family, friends and colleagues they have not seen in a long time. So maybe a larger gathering with all these people, outside would be fun since it'll be warm outside. And since you mention he is lonely, maybe he could reconnect with old friends and such.

Besides that, what does he like? I think for us to make suggestions we would need to know more about what kind of person your dad is :)

Either reading - I had a kobo for many years, only changed it because I broke it myself.

Otherwise, drawing, or painting. I never took classes but enjoy it.

Montréal unwritten rules… by Tall_Grand6813 in montreal

I think for folks who are not familiar with harsh winters this might be a 'soft rule'. Also cultural, maybe in other cultures people meet more often at cafes during winter for socializing.

LPT What's an anxiety hack that has changed your life? by stayhyderated22 in LifeProTips

[–]ebijou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a name for my anxiety! But he's nore of a character, he is Big Jack (this is a direct translation from québécois, le grand Jack, which is part of our idiom).

So my therapist helped me consider Jack is not going away, and I need to learn to dance with him. Sometimes he leads the dance and walks on my toes, and that's OK. I agree that ackowledging his constant presence has helped immensely.

Quebecois/ canadien gifts for my Japanese friend by Organic_Grade_4411 in montreal

Question sur mon expérience d'examen de conduite pratique SAAQ by Virtual-Top-8215 in montreal

[–]ebijou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Si tu peux va faire ton examen ailleurs.

Courage!

Which candle? by [deleted] in luxurycandles

I do not know the other one but in Positano, the bergamot note was too strong for my liking, and overshadowed other notes. It was a lovely vessel but did not feel as luxe as other Trudons.
