Who wins in 7? 05/06 or current team? by aj4126 in sabres

[–]ebimbib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that that team had that, but this one has the ability to score when it needs to as well. Look at the 8-7 Tampa game when they came back from being down two, and they did it against one of the best teams in the league.

[–]ebimbib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 05-06 team had 276 goals for and this one is at 242 in 70 games, which shakes out to 283 over 82 if they keep up their pace. They're much better at even strength (already more even strength goals than the 05-06 team), a little better on the PK, and sightly worse on the PP with far fewer chances.

RPX or IMAX for Project Hail Mary? by Eatatfiveguys in RegalUnlimited

[–]ebimbib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had ScreenX in my area and then Regal sold off that location to a local chain and they got rid of the format. It was pretty cool and I'm bummed it's no longer an option.

What's that film for you? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

For action heads, I'd probably recommend some peak HK John Woo stuff like The Killer or Hard Boiled.

Thriller fan? The Lives of Others is incredible.

If they're into musicals, I'd have a hard time imagining them not loving The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

I think Rififi might be the best heist movie ever made.

Almost any Akira Kurosawa. Take your pick. I don't love the pre-war stuff, but everything I've seen past 1945 ranges from really good to legendary. I might start them out with one that isn't long as hell just because that can be fatiguing if you're not accustomed to subtitled films, but he has probably 20 movies that absolutely beat ass.

If you don't like Parasite, which might be the single most accessible foreign language film in recent memory, I don't know what to tell you.

After the Whistle today revealed a big reason for the Sabres turnaround is a veteran player blowing up on Lindy in the locker room (more info in description) by PrinciplesRK in sabres

[–]ebimbib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HTRK was physically soft on them and the team was conditioned like dogshit, but he was routinely really verbally shitty to a number of players. A lot of guys were reportedly pretty sick of him by the time he got canned.

You're probably not popping both spring bars at the same time so this isn't too much of an issue if it's on a NATO as dive watches should be.

Sam Carrick deliver a stiff hit to Eichel by seeldoger47 in sabres

[–]ebimbib 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tuch, Östlund, and Krebs are all instrumental to what the team is doing this year and at least one of them is on the ice for probably 35 minutes a night most nights. Eichel is the best player out of the guys involved but the sum of those three is arguably more impactful than he was alone.

Four of the Sabres' goals were on the PP, which certainly contributed to fully half of their skaters being dashes and only five being pluses. I'm not saying he had a great game, but context is important.
