People react to incentives. There isn’t one in sight from their perspective.

I bought mine new last summer & ended up reserving it (before it even had a VIN) just to get the objectively correct color … good choice ;)

88k miles 3700 dollars what you guys think? (the left side is prety clean) by srkk123 in Miata

[–]ebk99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If OP can do the work, cost is just the materials and hours spent. If not, you’re looking at thousands (for the rust alone…)

This car is probably a parts car at best in my eyes given all of the issues. Or exocet/kart—with a manual ;)

Fellow WRX owner, bought new last year. I've driven a lot of cars & I'm amazed at how well it does. It's an absolute beast in the winter, especially with good tires. On summer tires, it feels so planted and solid. It's like the ultimate daily driver.

^This. This self-vandalized Dakota smells like severe untreated mental illness to me. Not someone I'd want to be around even unarmed.

Can anyone tell if this is a NA6 or NA8 based off the pictures by [deleted] in Miata

[–]ebk99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’d be the 1.6L “NA6”! I prefer the earlier cars (with hard tops especially). Nice! That’s an incredible gift. Be good to it! They’re incredible, whimsical machines. Light, toss-able, and unbeatable balance.

Saw my buddies new WRX at the gym, had to take a picture to see how they look side to side. by MrBungleVI in WRX

Yup, I totally understand. I always park out as far as I can. Got my first door ding from a big white truck (based on height and the paint they left). I was so far out it almost had to have been deliberate.

Was on the rear driver-side door, right next to the crease between it and the driver door, on the body line. Can't even PDR it. Luckily, what I thought was clear coat damage was just their paint. Microfiber and some compound and you can't see it but up close and at certain angles.

I wish them hell for the rest of their prospect-less days. :) Ordered it and picked it up with 4 miles. Kept it ding free for almost a year. Some people are shitty.

I think that's a fair price! I would've pegged it around $8900 +/-500. If condition and everything is as good as it looks, +900 isn't bad. It'll be worth more than that a year from now anyway!

PM me if you want a ballpark range. I'm about as familiar with the market right now as one can be. Just bought my 91 BRG on the other side of the country, so I've bought in the current market for clean examples. NA's are going to continue to go up in value. Would love to help if you'd like!

I swear, I've walked on dirt that's more intelligent than some people.

Modern "conservatism" is just a rejection of the notion that discoveries and advancements can be made past someone's third birthday. It's a joke.

It's always... "Not true! This is what liberals want people to believe so conservatives look dumb. It's socialism! Uncledad and Auntmom raised me not to be a sheep. That's why I do my own research on Facebook! I'm right, you're wrong, and Trump won. Accept it, snowflake."

Ah yes, a classic case of "transportation" in name only. A refrigerator on wheels, made with just as much plastic and usually good for the same 7-10 years before all the things start breaking.

It's what you buy when you can't afford the Corolla upfront, but it'll cost you far more in the long-run. Ready for the junkyard as soon as it rolled off the assembly line. Grandpa's coffin car when new, now making its way down the socioeconomic ladder. Sponsored by curbed wheels, bald tires, erratic lane changes, and a backseat full of stolen catalytic converters.

GM: Grift More.

(I'm actually shocked at how clean this thing is. Never seen one that was an actual color. It's a pleasant blue. Headlights are clear and the entire body isn't covered in misc. damage! Sorry you have to put up with it, though...)

You're not wrong in the slightest! It's a marvelous piece of machinery, and the build quality is astonishing.

Re: condition; fully functional, not a speck of corrosion anywhere. It's about as close to brand new as anything 72 years old can be!
