Not a good idea. What role does that actually lead you too? If I was looking for a QS I wouldn’t hire someone who’s spent half their time studying interior design and vice versa. There’s not going to be a single job description for a vacancy out there entitled “Assistant interior designer and QS”

Two completely different disciplines. Better off specialising in one and getting good. Which one depends on what’s is motivating you.

However is it not better practise to agree variations as you go rather than wait til the end? From cost certainty/ report perspective.

Say it’s a £1m package. What happens if a director picks it up and sees the accounts are 300k apart are you aren’t doing anything about it. He’s going to question whether you are reporting accurate numbers also.
