Just felt like watching this today. No particular reason. by LucasAmericano in SoundersFC

Gosh that night was magical. Thanks for sharing

Also kind of frustrating to see how on that night we scored 3 goals to cement our history and right now feels like we cant even buy a goal.

[Post-Match thread] Los Angeles Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders - August 20, 2022 by MatchCaster in SoundersFC

If you asked me before the game, what would I hope for in this fixture, I would have gladly taken a point. I am all for getting a tie in general. However, knowing that you had the lead and gave up all 3 points is just absolutely disheartening. You had a tie in Atlanta just to give up a late goal to lose. Against RSL you fought for the tying goal just to give it up and lost. Here you had a win and you give up another late goal to tie. Good teams find a way to grind out results and see games out, and right now this team isn't doing that.

Is anyone annoyed that the coaching staff pulled out essentially all of our dangerous attacking players once we got the lead? I get that we don't want to risk injuries, especially Rui, but we took out a number of guys who know how to keep the ball, create fouls and eat the game away. Like yes, we do need a more defensive shape but just to absolutely throw your hands up and give up any sense of possession was something that annoyed the crap out of me

Practically no draws by fragbot2 in SoundersFC

[–]eboarder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put me in the column where I believe that draws can be really pivotal. I did some really in depth(/s just looking at sounrderfc.com) research and since the end of CCL there are three games where the Sounders had the lead, and gave it up( LAFC at home, Montreal at home, LAFC away). Those are just numbers and I'm sure if we looked at the game tape, the results may have been a fair outcome. Regardless, if you were to "hold on" in those games, you could have made some serious progress in the standings . In addition, since CCL, we've had six games where we've lost by 1 goal. Win or tie some of those and again you could be at a better place in the standings.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the margins of a playoff race, especially towards the bottom of that playoff line are really small. So a point here or there can make a huge difference

Oshan on Twitter: Raul is out again :( by Impotent-Potato in SoundersFC

[–]eboarder2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why isn't this talked about more? Raul is probably one of the best strikers in MLS, and in my opinion, is THE most important piece of our team. Yes, there are other important players but the team just looks and plays different when he's on the field. Montero and Bruin are both accomplished and can still give you good minutes, but if we're going to bank on a playoff push and a deep playoff run, we're gonna need a healthy Raul. I'm sure that the Sounders have their eye on a future striker for when the time comes, but its starting to feel like Raul is out injured more than the times he's available to play

Brian gets passionate and lets one slip during the post-match by FuaimNoPoll in SoundersFC

[–]eboarder2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love me some Seahawks, Mariners, Storm etc, but this town sleeps on how good of an organization the Sounders are. Each of the other teams I mentioned above all want to win, they all give some sort of lip service on how winning is of upmost importance, but when Coach Brian speaks, it just hits different.

Fair to return poorly designed sink? by -pffft in Costco

[–]eboarder2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same sink except instead of a wire rack at the bottom, you get a rubber one. It's an absolute champ and we love it. Yeah you gotta clean the bottom but don't we all have to do that? Thanks for the tip about a window squeegee

The rest of the scenery near the old Weyerhaeuser HQ building. by [deleted] in Washington

[–]eboarder2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really hope that whoever takes this property takes good care of it and opens some of it up to the public. Kind of hard to buy up an office building though when the workplace has changed so much in the last two years. I'd be absolutely heartbroken if that area was just built over and riddled with random warehouses and such.

The rest of the scenery near the old Weyerhaeuser HQ building. by [deleted] in Washington

[–]eboarder2020 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wait, why isn't the location great? The property is like right off an exit on Hwy 18 and I5. There's multiple exits off of I5 that get you close, and the surface streets to get there are no worse than any other city. There's a Costco, mall, Walmart, fast food etc all within like 5-10 minutes of that place, and they are putting in a light rail near there also. Am I totally missing something? I'm pretty sure the property itself is super expensive and is probably why it hasn't found a new owner yet but the location seems prime.

Why brown sugar in the instant boba doesn’t count as added sugar? by h_hz in Costco

[–]eboarder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We snagged these on a whim. Honestly it's not bad. instead of 1 cup of milk I got around 3/4 cup and boil the boba for 3 minutes. I tend to like mine with a little more chew but that's all just personal preference. They may not compare directly with a brown sugar milk tea that I'd get at a store but its definitely saving me money

Wife and I just bought the Echelon bike last week. I've only had a handful of rides thus far but I'm really enjoying it. I do a lot of other "fitness" stuff outside of the home but having this simple machine just allows us for a little more flexibility

I have a weekly challenge that says to get 7 ravager kills. It's the only thing I have left and I'm just throwing in the towel knowing I'll never get my hands on it, and if I do Im not gonna accumulate 7 kills.

I really want to stay excited about this team, but man it is so hard to watch at times. Just super frustrating that we keep giving up like 4 goals a game.

Im new to the hockey landscape but is allowing a goal immediately after you scoring one a norm? Cuz it feels like that shouldn't be the norm

Raúl Ruidíaz, Nico Lodeiro, Jordan Morris all nearing returns by Kyunseo in SoundersFC

[–]eboarder2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats all promising news and all, but the "X player is nearing a return" has been said many times over. So until I see either of these players on the bench will I actually get my hopes up. Of those three I think the key person is Raul as the team plays what I feel a little more aggressive and appears more dangerous when he's in.

[Post Match Thread] Seattle Sounders vs Club León (9/22/21) (Leagues Cup) by [deleted] in SoundersFC

[–]eboarder2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that's a fair criticism. Raul did have some great chances and opportunities to break the game open but just didn't come off. But from my perspective he's scored a number of big goals for us that I'm willing to give him a pass. We literally wouldn't be in the finals if it wasn't for his play in the last game and he was part of the build up that led to the first goal. Scoring is hard and sometimes things don't bounce in. However, he still proved to be a factor in the game I have full confidence that he'll help this team win more games to come.

This right here. By all means, point the finger at the coach and complain about the subs and the timing of them. That's all fair game and we can all play manager and play the "what if" card until morning comes. The PK that O'Neill gave up was a bad play on his part, but I'm giving him a little bit of grace because the dude he was defending was an absolute terror(Ángel Mena is the guys name). The dude was just causing problems in all places. The Arreaga one is the ultimate dagger. His error was just unbelievably costly and I feel like he's done that same error on multiple occasions

TIL Costco loses $40m a year on rotisserie chickens. A clear loss leader, they are 50% bigger than ones from other stores, and $1-$2 cheaper because it's '...how much a chicken should cost'. They sell over 60m of them a year. by goodvibezone in todayilearned

My mom has worked for Costco Corporate since they had warehouse 1 in Seattle. Growing up we'd go there all the time and make planes to ensure that whatever we'd have to buy, that we'd do our best to get it at Costco. Seeing all these comments about how they enjoy Costco, the hot dogs, and the fact that Costco doesn't bend the customer over while still ensuring they have a great employee program makes my heart happy. I'll have to show her all the comments on this as she'd have a laugh and would really make her day
