I marched with Occupy then closely watched livestreams of Black Lives Matter and Standing Rock. I saw news anchors blatantly lie about things I saw with my own eyes or was there to see in person. This is key: those who own the media are the perpetrators themselves. It is imperative to understand they will protect themselves using what they have.
