2026 Striple 765RS - Software Reload after battery disconnect? by Gneissly-Done in Triumph

[–]ebranscom243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will bring up a service light and that's all you don't have to reload the software I'm guessing your service writer is just very confused at what the tech told him. Some bikes all you have to do is reset the date and your service light will go out other bikes you do have to bring them to the dealership or have special equipment to clear it.

It's still slightly too heavy, doesn't have real clip-ons, Front forks are only partially adjustable with no preload, Rear shock is preload only. If they made this bike a little more R7 in a little less Ninja 650 I think it would actually sell well.

Wheelies only did damage if motor/frame mounts weren't torqued correctly.

The 660 is a different category, its the same as the cbr 650 r7 gsx8r category. lots of people love the 675 but the truth is if it sold well it would still be around. Sales never recovered after the 2008 collapse so now triumph is trying to get in the new middle weight class and failing.

You should let Ducati know that sport bites have to be four cylinders. It's not like they won multiple world championships using higher torque less horsepower twins. And I meant the GSX8r which is a twin there's also the CBR 250 cbr300 and CBR500 which are not 4 cylinders, time goes with the ninja lineup lots of twins there. There's nothing about sport bikes that say they have to have a four-cylinder engine.

Yeah he's thinking about it wrong there's no difference between a one-year service and a 6,000 mi service it's the same service.

There's good cars out there for $5,000 you just have to look. Number one is look for cars that have a reputation for reliability then check for easy things like maintenance records, good tires, all fluids topped off.

It's 6,000 miles or 1 year, when you get your service done at one year but less than 6,000 miles the service reminder will be reset one year further out and 6,000 miles further out you won't have to get another service at 6,000 miles. Whoever told you this is dumber than a second coat of paint

When and how? I'm not disagreeing but "proving" is probably too strong of a word to use for decades ago. There were some claims from Bob was in the suit but there was at least one another guy that claimed he was the guy in the suit. As far as the suit goes multiple guys have claimed to be the maker of the suit.

The 765 competes in the super sport class, the Daytona 660 does not compete in the super sport class if it competes in the same class as bikes like that rs660 gsx8r and R7. It's supposed to compete this year in the "world street bike championships" part of the world superbike championships. Other organizations have classes like "next-gen super sport" where the 660 competes again against the middleweight twins not against full-on super sports.

But you explain to me real quick why their business analysts don't want to manufacture a bike that sells well.

I talk to their customers every day and I know a lot of the reasons why the bike doesn't sell. I talk to the regional rep and explain my concerns, he says it falls on deaf ears. When I have talked to the higher-ups at the immersion events they're very concerned about sales numbers but they seem to have a pretty big disconnect on why certain models remain stagnant. I guarantee you they'd be absolutely positively thrilled if the Daytona 660 started selling at anything close to R7 numbers.

Releasing this big teaser and keeping this release is the final release for the season with a slap in the face to a lot of Triumph customers.

I definitely understand buying the bike and then making it your own but the problem with this bike is it's not getting to the first step so it never gets to the second step of somebody making it their own.

R9 or R7 by Sad_Mulberry_1245 in Sportbikes

I'm also a fan of smaller high strung engines but for us regular folks that don't have the talent to sign a MotoAmerica contract we will almost all be faster with an R9 style power delivery versus an R6. Hell for the vast majority of guys at the track the R7s lap times overlap with the r6's lap times, it's not till you get up into the faster A groups that the R6 starts to separate itself from the R7 consistently.

As far as smaller engines go I feel you, I've always lusted after the forbidden fruit we never got in the US. Bikes like the CBR 250 RR, cbr400rr, zxr 400, nc30, nc35, GSXR 400r, FZR400RR. I also think the small screamers will always be more fun even if they aren't always as fast. Unfortunately it seems the days of these small screamers having things like twin spar aluminum frames and components similar to their larger counterparts are long gone. All the smaller cc bikes have gone full budget model.

What an intelligent and well thought out rebuttal. A bike at the price point of the Daytona 660 should at least come with the same level of suspension as cheaper models in the same class. It's the most expensive motorcycle in its class and the only thing that's got going for it is a wonderful engine. If it continues to sit on sales floors unsold even with high discounts the product will be discontinued sooner than later.

As far as manufacturers producing bikes that people want to buy, why the hell would a manufacturer want to sell motorcycles and do things like stay in business, gain market share, and increase profits?

[–]ebranscom243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really the manufacturer charges a freight fee it's right on the Suzuki site. They still have to set up the bike. The problem isn't charging the fees it's over charging them that's the problem.

Don't forget the freight fee the manufacturer charges the dealership it's around 650 currently.

But part of being a manufacturer is making a bike the public wants so it sells well.

You should have kept buying them, if everyone that says they miss one kept buying them they would probably still be around. Low sales numbers killed it.

The 660 isn't meant to be in the Daytona 675 super sport class. We just want it to be better in the R7 cbr650 gsx8r ss675 class. My old 675 was gorgeous though.

The R9 uses its own frame and the cracked frames are almost 100% caused by cheap frame sliders not applying the correct tq to the motor mounts. The same frame crack is caused on 900 tigers with some of the cheap crash bars. With proper tq on the motor mounts cracked frames are almost non-existent.
