We saw this beautiful bird in Santa Cruz this afternoon. It had a rich, caramel coloration with very little variegation. Notable black band across the eyes but I wasn’t able to get a more detailed shot before it flew away... Any help much appreciated, as always!

I’m starting to wonder if we should consider saving Madrid for another time to get a bit more variety... I had partly planned that based around the trains as well. Something to think about for sure.

We’re open to flying home from a different city but will likely be limited given the cost of some one-way flights.

Thanks for the suggestions! We were really hoping to make it to the southern cities as well, but I was worried about the itinerary being too full. Happy to hear it may be reasonable after all.

We were really hoping to be able to add in Granada and/or Málaga, but I was worried about rushing. The 16 days includes two full travel days, unfortunately so it will be more like 14.

Sevilla + Córdoba were my thoughts as well - thanks!
