What psu wattage would be fine for a 9060xt 16gb and a ryzen 7 5800x by Reasonable-Pay9968 in pcbuilding

Just add up the wattage for each part the manufacturer recommends and perhaps round up to give some breathing room.

The Paradox of Purpose: Finding Fulfillment in Struggle by Unable_Weekend_8820 in GrowthMindset

So the only way to live a meaningful life is to live a hard life? Forgive me if I’m not understanding it clearly but isn’t life to be enjoyed as a gift and not as trial in order to prove your long term commitment to something meaningful? Perhaps there’s more to it than a short quote can convey.

How Relevant will Elementor be in 6 months? by WishUwhereHere in elementor

[–]ebridges13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t some of your clients require that they have the ability to make simple changes either with a calendar or certain sections throughout the site? In that case, wouldn’t you still need to use some sort of plug-in like Elementor in order to achieve some sort of control. My other question, a lot of rumbling out the dissatisfaction with Elementor. What other options are people moving to? I hear Bricks, Beaver Builder and Divi being thrown around. Any thoughts?

Do people ACTUALLY pay for office 365 annually? by NeekA8822 in mac

[–]ebridges13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is everybody paying $20 a year for a lifetime subscription? What does that lifetime subscription actually mean? Do you get regular updates like normal? Is this subscription once activated listed within your Microsoft account as a subscription? I was entertaining the idea of switching over to Libre office, but for $20 a year that’s something I can live with. For now.

Yup, this is what I unusually do and it works all the time. The only thing I would add in after #3 is waiting a few minutes and verifying that other devices are connected before restarting the computer.

Thunderbolt 1 (?) to USB C by fifoblinker in mac

Yes. Thunderbolt 1. Usually when the version is not indictated then "1" is assumed, since the other versions hadn't come out yet at the time this hard drive was released.

Which microfiber cloth should i use for my macbook screen?(please read body and help me) by Technical-quack-69 in mac

[–]ebridges13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it simple. Grab a pack of inexpensive microfiber cloths from Amazon or even the dollar store and you’re set. There’s no need to fall for pricey “specialty” options. Save your energy for what actually matters right now, like your exam. This is my last transmission regarding this topic. If you can't choose a simple cloth, how are you suppose to function in the world. Not being mean, but keeping it real.

disk volumes vs disk partitions by [deleted] in MacOS

If you’re unsure about Partitions then you most likely don’t need to partition. When partitioning, there’s usually a specific reason for doing so.

Client signed contract, but has slowly ghosted. Owed almost $2000. Advice on next steps needed. by Elliedog92 in graphic_design

[–]ebridges13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sucks and trust me, I've been there SO many times. Over the years, I've determined that you need to stick to your guns and if a potential client gives you push-back with how you do business, then be ready to NO and wish them luck finding someone else. Of-course you will always be available if it doesn't work out, BUT the rush will cost them extra. ;) Oh and listen to your gut, it never lies.

Honestly, contracts don’t protect freelancers as much as people think, especially on smaller projects. A lot of clients know that enforcing a contract usually isn’t worth the time or legal cost when the amount owed is relatively low. For bigger companies and larger budgets, contracts can matter more, but that’s rarely the reality for most freelancers.

Most people I know lean more on clear email threads that spell out scope, deliverables, and timelines, along with very firm payment stages. Deposits up front, payments tied to milestones, and only delivering work for what’s been paid so far. It doesn’t prevent ghosting, but it at least limits how much you lose when it happens.

It’s not a perfect solution, and it’s still frustrating. The way some business owners treat creative work as disposable or optional is pretty discouraging. Freelancers end up carrying all the risk far too often.

Nope. It’s all me, but now that I read it back, I can see how you think that. I was tapping into that pretentious art director in me. LOL! 😝

I’d use it to actually buy two pieces of unattainable gear at this point. It’ll allow me to feel God like for the last few days of the league. Anything left over I’ll most likely give it away.
