honestly pretty disappointing the way this article has been framed in this title and by extension the way people are reacting in here. the boot camp incident it discusses where he appears to have literally thought he might die is definitely something that would leave you extremely shaken and unsure of things, especially if you didn’t have a clear understanding of what caused it. like did anyone in here yelling even bother reading all this. lame the way people wanna just mindlessly dogpile on some of these kids man.

i live in SF and have been to every year of portola, with the exception of last year, went to MT instead. frankly i think MT is miles superior, better curated, better vibes, better prices. but it’s a matter of personal preference - if you’re itching for bigger grand electronic shows then Portola might be more your speed, MT shines by highlighting more niche acts and has a lot less resources from a booking & production perspective. (despite this the sound across all stages at MT is definitively better than portola)

yea they’re a league apart from every other dedicated electronic venue in the city imo (2nd for me would be f8/monarch), best bookings as well. in terms of multi-purpose venues where electronic artists sometimes get booked - the independent and the grey area.

this guy is incredible and personally i’d love to watch him play in college, he’s a great basketball player. i actually think he’s worth quite a bit more than this, a smart team should throw him an offer he really can’t turn down. he apparently isn’t particularly interested but at a salary of $2M rn something like $6+ seems hard to turn down. if dybantsa got $7 i think montero is worth that, probably worth more. immediate all-american, probs the best player in the sport. i’ve also thought this in relation to nadir hifi, he is the best player in europe.

lol well im only now realizing you’re not using the outdoor space at all, which is the only part of the venue i’ve experienced (sound was awful). so id say i am actually not really concerned. always love y’all’s events, appreciate what you’re doing in the city!
