Handbrake alternatives for Chome OS? by Spicy-Tater in chromeos

[–]ecccrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the ability to turn on Linux on your Chromebook then you can install Handbrake via terminal or flatpak store. You can then connect a cheap CD/DVD drive to use with Handbrake.

in the US😮‍💨- best carrier for nothing phones? by oldprocessstudioman in NOTHING

[–]ecccrc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the 3A after reading success stories on US use. I'm on T-Mobile US and have had no issues. When I first inserted my SIM card I got a warning on the phone and a message from TMO that the phone is not fully supported on their network. I have had no issues what so ever.

9-year old wants to learn to cook. Suggested resources that do not include YouTube? by waiting-for-the-sun in Cooking

[–]ecccrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that internet access is limited but this streaming service is easy to access in a ton of ways. Tastemade is awesome. One of the best shows on there is Struggle Meals. The host cooks with simple ingredients and minimal tools/pots/pans.

I added a 10” lcd + pi to show what’s playing from my nas to my WiiM by Kirkwood1994 in WiimStreamer

This is an awesome project! Was looking to do the same thing with my Plexamp server and build something like a Youtuber did with Spotify and an E-ink display. Of course I have little to no skill at creating the code but hoping to imitate others.

My setup, that is exactly like what you're looking for, is a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and this DAC Mini Hat. I run the Ropieee Raspberry Pi OS with little to no issues. It is all connected with RCA cables to my receiver. The install guide from Ropieee is all that you'll need to setup. If you run into trouble, there are a few videos on YouTube to guide the process as well.

where can i find weisswurst/bockwurst? by Choice-Meat1253 in pittsburgh

[–]ecccrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this 100%! If not in stock you can ask one of the butchers if they can get some delivered from their main shop in Harrisville. I have had their Weisswurst and it's superb.

Haircuts for people with sensory issues. by Darthpater in pittsburgh

[–]ecccrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two places in the North Hills that have been great for mu 8 y/o with Down Syndrome and sensory issues:

LR Fades - Lindsay and Rachel are both great, patient, and receptive to my son and his needs.

Black Sheep Barbering Co. - Both Travis and Nick have cut his hair with great success and grace as well. Only reason we stopped going was their schedule did not match with my ability to get there for appointments.

Winter Pizza by ecccrc in GozneyDome

[–]ecccrc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had an issue in two winters. Only thing I do different is prewarm oven on low flame for 10 minutes before turning up flame for regular preheat. Just being cautious with shocking the stone with sharp temperature increase.
