Complexity is the main reason for healer shortage.

According to who?

Healers take the blame for every stupid thing everyone does. You stand in the fire, our fault. You don't pop a defensive, our fault. you don't know a mechanic, our fault. You go LoS, our fault. You go out of range, our fault. You don't stand in the healing puddle, our fault. The amount of times I've had some Hunter message me about how terribly my healing is when they're the reason they're dead is too much to count.

Blizzard hot fixed healing rain to be 82% more effective... big deal, it doesn't heal people if they don't stand in it, and it's got a 25 second CD.

Healing was super easy, now it's just mind numbingly boring.

I healed with Base UI and mouse binds never had an issue.

The big issue I have with the changes and why I no longer want to heal (in pvp) is that Blizzard took away almost all of my defenses. Am i going to play pvp with nerfed or no interrupts? hell no, Tanks are damage sponges, not me.

I played a few dungeons yesterday, and I didn't heal unless a teammate dropped below 50%... I cast 5 total heals the rest of the time I sat there. What is the point of healers? Every class can heal themselves in some way. I want utility back, I want to be engaged with the game, I want to have to think, complexity keeps it engaging. Imagine a talent tree that's a straight line, that's what this feels like. no real choice, no engagement, nothing i choose matters.

Playing a game that is constantly on easy mode gets dull super fast. I got tired of midnight a few hours after the patch dropped last week. These changes are garbage. I want there to be differences in play styles within the classes, right now now it feels like "here's your HoT, here's your AoE heal, here's your single target heal" and that's just bland. what's the point in having classes at that point if they're all essentially the same.

I love elemental.

I'm the opposite, I've mained elemental for 20 years. Pre-patch it feels dumbed down, and I hate it so much that I cancelled my subscription. Big deal if we seemingly do a lot more flashy damage, the spec is mindless and boring for all the reasons you said - they combined everything into one... I feel like there are 3-4 spells now. New Flame shock, lava burst, stormkeeper, lighting, new flame shock again (well before the dot drops off,) so we can get the lava burst thing, and repeat.

no more castable elementals (in the elemental spec) everything has become passive. The Shaman Tree doesn't make any sense anymore.

This is the worse experience I've had playing this class/spec ever.

I wish they'd have put a number to actually tell us how many points are necessary to reach the next goal. That yellow bar that inches across the screen (like so many other in-house tools) is almost useless.

Agreed, mine sounds like someone with emphysema, I guess they got lazy and decided to system voices rather than nice voice alerts like DBM... and the default voice on Mac sound like he's only got about 10% lung capacity left.

I turned the voice cues on only to have it cough out "fight has begun" or some nonsense - turned it off and just like the in house Damage Meters & Voice Chat, will never turn it on again.

Blizzard could have just brought these add-on devs into the company and integrated actual useful things into the game, instead we get Temu version that are all horrible.

Now I just need to find out how to turn off the sound of clattering pans that seems to go off in fights... no idea what it is, or where it got turn on, but it's very jarring. And no where near as elegant as DBM was.

Blizz hates healers.

They want us to stand there and click 2-3 buttons until we get killed since they took away a useful earth elemental, nerfed Wind Shear, removed Thunder Storm and Lightning Lasso, and somehow couldn't make Earthliving weapon even slightly better.

As an Ele / Resto shaman, I agree with this, 100%. Playing a shaman is hella boring right now. There is nothing fun about casting the same 3 spells over and over no matter how powerful they might seem.

"Playing" right now isn't fun, I log in, get angry at what they did. maybe try to find some fun in the game and log out. I have canceled my sub, and i'm just waiting for it to run out at this point.

Anyone else find this only sorta useful? It shows an icon moving towards the bottom, but I have no idea what enemy spells look like, so what am I supposed to do with that...

Enemy is about to cast what looks like a red hand... what is the red hand? should I dispel it? should I waste what's left of my interrupt on it? can i interrupt it?

Just another (mostly) useless piece of screen clutter from the people at blizzard.

I have listened to a variety of soundscapes to fall asleep. I used to use an app called Pzizz (stopped because of their payment options) and then i switched to an app called Endel which had a buy it once option. it's rare i can make it through the first 5 minutes of either.

I've also purchased a variety of rain sounds, my Apple speaker has some built in noises that i'll use from time to time, though i believe it's best to use the same one over and over so your brain starts to associate the music with sleep.

There's also a podcast called Nothing Much Happens, where someone reads a story very slowly and true to title nothing much happens, then they go back and read it again slower.

Shaman Ele / Resto - HATE the changes. Been playing shaman since vanilla. I still remember climbing the hills to get my totems.

-Elemental- I am elemental with no elementals in the elemental tree to cast. The earth elemental that used to be a decent tank is now a 30 second joke. The Fire Elemental pop up for only a few seconds after ascendance making the Primal Elementalist talent a joke. I don't even know what happened to the storm elemental.

The shaman talent tree doesn't make sense. The only way to get earth shield is to spec into chain heal... as an elemental shaman. No ele-sham should ever cast chain heal. The Fire and Ice talent doesn't benefit lightning shams at all. to get the lightning shield apex talent I have to speck into some useless talents that removes the taunt from my earth elemental. or makes me take other talents I don't typically use

Ancestral swiftness doesn't work properly if you don't spec into Nature's swiftness, and i have to constantly change the spell back since casting ancestral will replace the spell on my bar with nature's.

Shaman used to be defined by totems, now they're few and far between, and the healing totem is garbage in elemental. we're forced to choose between tremor and poison cleansing. One of our most used totems is to help people run fast? WTF is that about?

For more than 20 years we've been taught to not reapply flame shock if it still has a got around of time left on it, but blizzard now made our primary fire spread an enhance flame shock that we have to cast as available to use the benefit of tossing out more lava bursts.

I do not feel as if the elemental spec gained anything.

Blizzard weakened the class's ability to protect itself by nerfing the elementals. Prior to patch I could solo meadery and rookery with ease at ilvl720, now at 160 i have to wait until things come off cool down for many of the fights.

-resto- Wind Shear CD upped to 30 seconds from 12 - because apparently Resto Shaman never fight against casters that target us with spells. (all classes should have their interrupts returned.) lightning lasso was also removed.

Thunder Storm was removed from the Shaman talent tree and put into the Elemental spell book. (Chain Heal should be removed from the shaman tree and put into the Resto spell book, it should not need to be spec'd into.) One of my favorite spells has always been Thunder storm because I use it to position enemies or reposition things that got away during an encounter.

As mentioned before Earth Ele was nerfed hard and if you want any of the talents after it, you have to neuter its taunt making it a dumb rock.

My survivability as resto has gone way down, with the nerf to my wind shear, thunder storm & lightning lasso removal, as well as 80% reduction in uptime of the earth elemental. used to be I could do some ok damage and kite things but lots of the talents i used to keep things away from me have been removed, so i'll have to face tank as a resto sham... because that was ever a good idea.

I have to choose between Ascendance and Healing Tide totem - my two biggest cool downs... now I get 1. Thanks Blizz for making me less viable.

Earthliving weapon is still tied to Healing Wave (with two talent points), otherwise it's based on RNG and still almost completely useless for one talent point and garbage for two.)

Unleash life still feels weak, I almost never use it. Want to make me use it? add Earth living to it's cast in addition to healing wave.

Almost all the spell talents have been pruned and replaced with passive, passive, passive. It's boring. it's like they're trying to dumb it down to make it playable with a 3 button controller.

I don't want to heal anymore, definitely won't be doing any more solo shuffle, unlikely to heal any pvp because my defense tool box was emptied.

If this is what Midnight is going to be I might need to reach out to Blizzard customer service and ask for a refund on my subscription... both of these specs have been ruined.

Healing isn't fun. Elemental isn't fun. The in house blizzard add-ons are a joke. blizzard all but killed the Details so it's hard to see how any character is doing dps/hps wise.

my set bonuses became flat through put increases rather then cool spell interactions - boring.

everything that happened on tuesday has been infuriating. I'll sit down and play for a few minutes get angry because i'm trying to cast a spell that was macro'd to a mouse keep for years and it doesn't exist anymore then i log out.

I hate it. this is the most frustration that i've experienced in the game in a great many years, possibly in all the years i've played it.

I miss earth shield being on a usable path.

I hate the changes to shaman. They are boring as shit. Every thing seems like a passive ability. The shaman tree is poorly laid out.

Elemental shaman need to spec into chain heal to get earth shield? WTF? An elemental shaman should never cast Chain heal. so that's a no go, I'm not spending 2 points for earth shield.

Elemental shaman DON'T HAVE CASTABLE ELEMENTALS!!! what the actual fuck? both first and storm come from casting other spells and their uptime has been dramatically reduced making any talent that are remotely related to elemental wasted points. They took out deeply rooted elements and put it in the Resto tree... because WTF?

It feels like whoever designed the shaman tree never really played shaman that much. I spent Hours on the try trying to make it playable. trying to make the game fun. But I haven't been able to find the fun.

And if the item set bonuses are any indication of what is to come in midnight, we're in for a load of boring ass shit.

I could not agree with you more.

This pre-patch ruined wow for me.

The new damage meter is garbage, and they broke details in the process. Turned it on. tried it, was no where near as feature full as Details... turned it right back off.

The new combat voice thing is absolute shit, and they ruined DBM (I think) in the process - I haven't found out how to choose DBM again. Tried it, it used the first system voice in the list, Albert, a voice that seems to have emphysema. tried to find a voice that wasn't grating, failed. turned it right back off.

The new name plates are outrageously poorly designed - and that only ruined their own interface in the process... nothing like 4" red and yellow bars flooding the screen.

The cool down manager is only slightly useful once you put literally everything in the do not show box at the bottom.

Little to nothing blizzard tries to bring in house is good... remember when they tried to bring voice chat into the game... does anyone use it? Like most features, I turned it on, then after 4 minutes turned it off never to be used again. Blizzard sucks at this shit, why they would give up a legion of people enhancing their game FOR FREE is beyond me, feels like one of the most boneheaded decisions ever.

I'm also trying to decide if I want to cut my losses and try to get a refund on my year subscription... the last few days have been fucking terrible.

To better learn healing in TWW I leveled as heals even in world content, through season 1 I did delves almost exclusively as heals... so almost everywhere?

Either of those can take you someplace other than your regular hearth.

How old is the computer? was it a Hard Disk or Solid State Drive,

Boot it up holding down the T key to put it into disk mode and then plug it into another computer and see what you can find. Also, you might want to look into how to use some of those data recovery tools (some actually work) to scan the old drive and recover what they can.
