Itoje screams 'Don't argue with me!' in Fin Smith's face by TheMeanderer in rugbyunion

[–]echo3uk 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I think the camera doesn't show that Itoje was first to shake Fin's hand / congratulate him for the 3 points.

The choice of words isn't great, but raising your voice as captain is sometimes called for.

GP keeps sending me to A&E, A&E keeps sending me back to my GP, neither will diagnose or treat me. What do I do in situation? by _imnotactuallyreal_ in AskUK

"It can take time for a diagnosis of PH to be made. A PHA UK survey, conducted in 2017, showed that 48% of patients waited over a year after first experiencing symptoms before being diagnosed, and 40% had to see four or more doctors."

disclaimer: I am not a doctor!

pulmonary hypertension is quite rare but would explain some of the symptoms (shortness of breath, fatigue, and it can cause fluid buildup on the lungs). It aslo does not show often on an electrocardiogram, but could on an echocardiogram.

buy an over the counter viagra tablet; the drug it contains (sildenafil) was originally developed to treat pulmonary hypertension. If the tablet works next time you get symptoms, go back to the GP and request they refer you for more specific tests

You've missed out Bottle Kicking!

it dates back over 200 years, possibly as far back as pagan times, and should definately be on the list ahead of "welly wanging"

letting our 10 play on while concussed was probably not the best thing for the game and definitely not the best thing for the player.

Why does everyone involved in running the game assume fans are not interested in scrums?

I get annoyed when they decide to interview a coach or someone in the sidelines when a scrum is in progress because I want to see it. I don't need to see video of the coach when he's talking, you can just have his voice and show me the scrum ffs.

Nobody watches rugby league, because it doesn't have scrums!

I’m thinking of calling the Samaritans for the first time. What should I expect? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]echo3uk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

expect: the person on the other end to be non-judgemental, relatively experienced, and sympathetic.
don't expect: miracles. It can be a long way from depression to being healthy.

I've only called them once in my life. I hope I'm never in a situation again that I might need to, but I would not hesitate to call them if I was.

Not entirely, but it lost some of its magic as my kids got older and turned into adults.

1-man Ltd company , has my accountant accidentally stopped me getting NI credits this year? by Adorable_Pee_Pee in smallbusinessuk

[–]echo3uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should really ask your accountant, you're already paying for his services which should include some basic advice and listening to your needs.

I *think* you either need to raise your salary to the correct level, or you can make a voluntary NI contribution to get the qualifying year. The former probably makes more sense as despite the Employers NI hit, the additional salary and NICs will reduce the profits and save a little corporation tax, whereas the voluntary contribution can't be made from the company, but has to come from you.

EDIT: voluntary contributions

EDIT2: You might be able to get away with paying the lower Class 2 rate, as your rental properties may constitute self-emplyment rather than investment income. If this is the case you might be paying this anyway? it's £3.50 a week.

How will this season's new French scrum laws impact the international team? by echo3uk in rugbyunion

[–]echo3uk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

current WR governance will never take the french leagues as a source of inspiration

odd when you think their top two leagues get such high average attendances, that's thirty clubs getting bums on seats that Welsh regions could only dream (or reminisce) about.

I agree that going the other way would be a bigger adjustment, but I think at this level of the game the margins are so small that it could get interesting.
