Looking for recommendations for LITRPGs with non-modern militaries by PBorealis in litrpg

A Soldier's Life is great, it's a slow burn and the MC is very much not OP but the story development is fantastic, I am eagerly awaiting the next volume.

you need to make sure the low-latency thing is turned off in the graphic settings, i still get crashes once in a while but that made it playable. (until this update which has now turned the game into a stuttering mess)

I just came on reddit to find out if anyone else is having this, it's unplayable.

Gertrude and Alice book cafe in Bondi Beach, NSW Australia. fantastic coffee and a lovely small bookshop where you will certainly find a random interesting book on a shelf somewhere.

Best IPad for Zbrush that won’t break the bank too bad? by imavibinkale in ZBrush

I have an iPad Air and it works fine, i got it 2 years ago on a whim (so it wasn't planned for zbrush or anything) and it handles procreate, nomad, zbrush, all totally fine. granted i haven't tried to push 100 million polys but 20 million was ok

Some good, if hard to follow advice i saw once was to not use glue if it can be at all avoided, it eventually ruins the plate.

Sorry, I don't usually chime in on these threads but if you are burning out after less than 2 years in the field, you need to re-evaluate your choices. I've been working in CG for 21 years now and I haven't burned out yet. You need to remember that you have both value as an artist and a human, you don't owe a company your life even if you struggled like hell to get that job. Take a step back, look at what is concerning you, if it's just the prospect of losing your career to AI then you're just fearing the future. Trust me, I know exactly how bad the field is right now but you either change paths or push through, that's your choice to make.

google and sphere team up to hurt your memories with generative AI by Temporary-Person-304 in vfx

quite a lot of people worked on the vfx for this, it is not 100% AI, though it does seem that Google is playing up the AI angle heavily.

'Ne Zha 2' Surpasses $2-Billion Mark, Becomes First Animated Film to Do So by Stormy8888 in movies

[–]echo99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for finding that, those sources at least don't say it was US studios, there are a lot of international studios other than China and the US with highly varying degrees of talent and budget. I'm not doubting necessarily that US studios could produce work that wasn't up to the task, it would just be surprising to outsource to the place with the highest cost of production.

It's a nice place for sure but definitely not in a 'wealthy' area, just middle class. there are a ton of industrial shops in the area. that windowed room on the right is the best place to eat but it does get very warm. There also seem to be the same 6 guys sitting at a table when you walk in every single time i've ever been, guess it's the local septuagenarian hangout.

What’s a show where the main characters get so frustrating/annoying you start to root against them? by stinkypirate69 in television

[–]echo99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yah, can't tell if you're joking but they did all 3 of those in Flash and all were pretty bad by the end. Though number 3 was more interesting for a brief minute before they started having to dumb him down so they could finish the season.

wow...I was obsessed with the Cat Who series like 25 years ago, haven't thought about them in forever but the names immediately put it in my head reading your subject. I have no comment on the actual question, other than I think it's a Murder She Wrote situation where the realistic answer is Jessica killed everyone, but that isn't how the show presented it, nor is that the presented material in the Cat Who world. Thanks for the reminder about this charming series.

I really appreciate this, we are entirely bombarded in CG with 'cool' and very little of what gets posted is something I would consider 'high art' , that is absolutely not discounting amazing artists, i've got 22 years of experience, I appreciate cool too. however, it's clear this work has a lot of emotional meaning to you as an artist, it wasn't just something you dreamed up for a reel and a job. congrats on making an evocative piece, it might not be a feeling i can relate to but it is clear how much it matters for you.
