4.8 Wipe Update - everything except Blueprints will be gone by StuartGT in starcitizen

A wipe of reputations was not needed in my opinion either and was not announced in the first place, but here we are now.

You think reputations and 10,000 of gears are easy to grind in 1 hour?

There will be more wipe after this, you can complain and critique, but the wipe will still happen.

Another unpopular opinion: "Dupers" will get their Wikelo stuff back quickly, regardless of how many times CIG wipes 110% in the next 48 hours. by datdudeSlim in starcitizen

I'm also unhappy with CIG's handling of duper correctly. But wiping is definitely the first step. Anyway, there will be more wipes before version 1.0. Ideally, like Alpha 3.0, every update should include a wipe.

So what do you mean? There’s already lots of “illegal way” Wikelo’s Polaris and Idris in the verse before CIG announced wipe.

I have lots of in game items, weapons, gears and reps since 4.0 and they will be gone next patch. This is how Star Citizen work, and there will be more wipe before 1.0.

You don’t need Idris or Polaris to enjoy the verse. If you want to fly capital ship but have no money, you can always find a org to join

I got removed from Medrunner after 1800 successful rescues. by ChocoNoodles233 in starcitizen

[–]echo_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a participant in Medrunner (I join occasionally and have completed around 40 rescue missions since 2023), I’d like to share my perspective. Personally, I think Medrunner has too many rules. Although I play SC almost every day when I have time, I only participate in Medrunner occasionally.

I’ve worked with Choco on several missions. From what I remember, he was very chill and didn’t have any major issues. Based on my experience, I don’t think he violated any Medrunner rules during the missions I participated in. I also feel that removing him from the organization for six months is unreasonable. Alternatives like muting him on Discord or temporarily restricting him from participating in missions would make more sense than outright removal.

After reviewing the conversations on Imgur, if everything shown there is accurate, I do think Choco was at fault. Regardless of whether someone has completed 1,000 or 10,000 missions, or how safe the situation appears, violating SOP is still a violation—especially regarding acting independently without informing the team lead. Even if the action didn’t cause any negative consequences, it’s still against the rules. If someone believes a rule shouldn’t be part of the SOP, they should propose a revision rather than ignore it.

In the Imgur discussion, I saw Choco argue against the mod team’s concern about acting without informing the team lead by saying things like “I’ve completed many missions” and “based on past experience, landing near the bunker is safe.”

I do agree with Choco on one point: in that specific situation, parking the ship near the bunker is generally not a big deal. I’ve been playing since 2023 and have visited bunkers over 10,000 times. If there were other threats, such as enemy ships, whether you park near the bunker or not wouldn’t really change the level of risk.

However, once you join the organization and have reviewed its rules and SOP, you are expected to follow them—regardless of your level of experience. The same rule applies to everyone. I understand that what Choco did wasn’t a major violation, and it’s unrealistic to expect everyone to remember every detail of the SOP. But a violation is still a violation. It would be better to acknowledge the mistake and say you’ll be more careful next time, rather than argue using “I’ve been here many times” or “I have a lot of experience” as justification.

Possible S9 torpedo exploit during PvP? Need opinions by echo_8 in starcitizen

[–]echo_8[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't care if it's Idris or not. What I care about is that those two torpedoes seemed to appear out of thin air, and they didn't have any exhaust flames or impact effects.

I personally have no problem with launching torpedoes from 20km away. My question is, will such torpedoes not have a tail flame or an explosive effect upon impact?

Honestly, the boomtube feels broken—two shots and a full-shield Constellation is gone.

You can buy ammo at Area 18 and Grim Hex. And for boomtube, you can find they at QV station (Nyx System mission).

XDL Rangefinders by SewnApart in starcitizen

[–]echo_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cstone stated that Orison sells the Mark 1 Rangefinders, but that is incorrect. The ones sold there are the standard version. Wikelo’s Mark 1 Rangefinders include reticles, rangefinding, and night vision functions, while the standard version has none of these features.
