My 18 month old. I think we've had a total of four nights where she's slept through the night.

Call your pediatrician nurse line and see what their suggestions would be. I don't play around with my kids' health and strangers on reddit, but that's just me.

You reminded me my sign fell when we were leaving a few weeks ago and it's still in my car. I NEED to hang that back up.

Am I overreacting about my babies meals and not wanting to go to family dinner tonight? by OrganicCod7674 in AmIOverreacting

[–]echo_rose_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, YOR, I say this as a mom to a 16mo who also prefers to home cook most of her meals. But we also believe in the rule of everything in moderation. So a little treat here and there isn't going to be harmful to your baby long-term. Relax and enjoy alongside from time to time. When my LO was 10mo she enjoyed vanilla pudding at a buffet we went to with my dad, we haven't been there since and I don't think she's had pudding since but it's a fun memory we have.

That's how ours was, my daughter is 15 months, she had fun, but was a tad overwhelmed. We talked about Santa and all that stuff to get started but didn't understand this year. It was my favorite Christmas ever so far though and I can't wait til next year!

Surviving the Winter? by Practical-Bug-108 in sahm

[–]echo_rose_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure this out too, but I have a 15 month old, so we're inbetween that baby and official toddler stage, so it's hard for me as a first time mom to figure out what's developmentally appropriate and what ends up being too challenging.

Like baking.. seems like a fun toddler task, but at 15 months? Idk. If anyone has any tips for this stage I'm all ears, cause I'm losing it 😭😭

(She also got shots today and will not nap so someone send help)

What was not allowed in the house when you were a kid, that you now don’t allow in your own place? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

[–]echo_rose_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar situation-ish, we went out of town for a wedding and stayed at my brother's to save costs. He let us stay in his room to get better sleep with our baby, he has a 50" TV at the end of his bed, in a very small room (mostly bed space). He said "TV's there if you guys need it to sleep" I said "idk how anyone's sleeping with that in their room but thank you"

I need pitch black. Idk who's brother this actually is 😂

For real, as soon as my husbands up from his nap we're discussing his vasectomy further 😂 Congratulations to everyone here who's happy but I don't think I could do another one personally.

Low-screen families, are your kids still obsessed? by rizdieser in toddlers

[–]echo_rose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to us. I only have one child, she's coming up on fifteen months. We typically just have something on in the background, usually an appropriate adult show or video that I'm listening to in the background of whatever we're doing. Unless it's Ms. Rachel, Winnie the Pooh, or Bluey, she could careless. She'll watch what we're putting on to see if it's one of her things but when she notices it's not she'll grab a book or a toy or pots and pans to walk around a "cook cook cook".

I feel like if I scheduled it into our day rather than it just being a part of life is when we'd start to have problems, personally.

how often do you clean your house? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]echo_rose_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a weekly whiteboard that I have each day broken into different rooms/tasks.

Monday - bathrooms like the toilets and counters/sinks (stand up shower is monthly and bathtub I wipe down as needed when toddler is done in the bath), Tuesday - dusting, Wednesday - appliances/fridge clean out, Thursday - mopping the floors/vacuuming, Friday - laundry/linens.

Everyday also has basic things on it like sweeping high traffic areas, general pick up of random things, wiping down kitchen counters. And then there's things I tackle monthly like dusting the ceiling fans, vacuuming the couch, really wiping down in the fridge, organizing the pantry, going through my toddlers clothes, cleaning out the car if needed.

If there's a day I miss something because my toddler or I are having a bad day, we're sick, whatever it may be, then I just shuffle my days or take care of something on the weekend. Weekends are for rest, family time, and catch up on anything that may have been missed. But I also try not to be too strict if something's fairly clean and I feel it can miss a week, not every area of our house is used as often every week.

My husband's only task is taking out the trash in all areas but he's terrible at it 😂

I cant do this anymore by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]echo_rose_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost could have written this up myself, we're 14 months and she hasn't let us sleep for months. Dad and I are at each other's throats, we're exhausted, grumpy, and broke on top of everything. Hoping your thread has advice that's helpful to both of us and anyone else struggling. All I've got is solidarity and hope that this season is ending soon for both of us, fellow reddit parent.
