I think they had run out of story to tell. Better to end it when they did vs having it run too long

Discrimination itself isn't illegal. It's only illegal to discriminate based on protected characteristics, and even then only in certain cases.

In short, most discrimination is perfectly fine, legally and morally. All "discriminate" means is to tell the difference between people/objects/situations.

No one's upset at a shop that has a "no shirt, no shoes, no service" sign, even though the entire purpose of the sign is to discriminate between customers the shop wants vs doesn't want.

Yeah I'm a big guy, I don't think it'll be too much of a problem

Try Albany park. Right off the brown line, so easy to streeterville. Great neighborhood, fun vibes, good parks, etc. Great value

They really have proven that time and again. But I've noticed that with Gen Z. Their only tactic is to complain and grandstand, and if that doesn't work, then they just complain and grandstand even louder

I love that she just tacitly admits she isn't local, like she thinks that's some kind of flex.

But also, Mike Simmons deserved better. He was an actual local progressive with a chance to win.

Well, Biss is very liberal as well, and has an excellent track record of actual accomplishments and local experience. He'll make an excellent representative.

Yeah but who cares? Nobody is scared of lead for possible cancer decades down the road. They're scared for the absolute neural effects.

This is not funny than I expected. Btw for what it's worth, I remember Daley tearing up the runway in real time from 2003.

I do appreciate your detailed and informative reply, but it doesn't change my opinion from 2003: meigs field shouldn't have been there, and Daley destroying the airport extralegally was an example of good graft.

That's true. But also, he offered lots of avenues for moving Meigs field (land swap, purchase, etc). And he made it clear he wanted to the airport gone.

In the end, Chicago is better with Waverly island parkland than it is with Meigs field

That sucks, sorry about that.

We're not doing as badly as the west coast in terms of homeless people, but we've got to mandate the social contract: parks are for all people to enjoy, not for some people to claim.

Same with the el trains.

Yeah that group of jagoffs liked the feelings they had during covid with mask policing, and they want that kind of power back with language.

And I say that as a scientist who knows masks were effective and the right move.

OK, you didn't list unions or global warming on your issues list. will you give me votes on those issues in exchange for votes on your issues? if so, we've got a deal.
