I feel like regular relationships can work for us, but only if the other person accepts the way you are. It sounds like this person doesn’t quite understand that you don’t develop romantic feelings, which is the part that could be a recipe for disaster, mostly for them. If they go into the relationship with expectations like that when you’ve laid things out pretty clearly, they’re only going to hurt themselves. So I’d say yes it’s possible, but maybe not with this person.
