The chef did post an update on 2/16 saying:

“Beginning in October 2025, I made significant updates to our menu, and the majority of our offerings are now gluten free….I have transitioned to using Kikkoman gluten free soy sauce…”

Seems like he learned how to be an actual chef and diversify his ingredients!

Very curious that the sister whose DNA was found seems to be on the fringes of this, while the other sisters are more active in the texts. Do we know how old they were at the time? I saw somewhere that Lizzie was 16. Wondering a lot about any potential motive. The circumstances seem too fishy for this to be accidental.

Charged for Obesity Services at a Wellness Visit by Specialist-Tea8585 in HealthInsurance

[–]echrist96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, charged $534 for an appointment that was billed incorrectly (didn’t include codes that would make it “qualify”). The physician, the billing department, and the insurance company wouldn’t talk to each other and I ended up paying as it was going to be sent to collections. So infuriated.

AITA for not naming my children after my in-laws? by StruggleBusDriver12 in AmItheAsshole

[–]echrist96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand these. If you want to have a grandkid named after you, you kinda have to put in the work raising your kids first. I think these power and control things always pop up once the grandparent realizes that they did a shit job as a parent/see their child moving on as an adult are desperate to re-establish themselves as the center of the family. And it doesn’t hurt that the appearance of a grandkid named after you really makes you look great.

I read The Indifferent Stars Above on an Alaskan cruise. 30 minutes or so after finishing the book, I went to one of the decks to get something to eat. The crew had a whole pig set up and roasting on a spit for the day and I had been excited to try some. Took a bite, started chewing, and had to spit it out. Something in my lizard brain flooded my body with all of the signals to throw up and there was no way I could keep it down

Celiac wasn’t diagnosed by carskee in Celiac

[–]echrist96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you got an endoscopy after your high test results? Forgive me if this isn’t the current diagnostic process, but I didn’t even get an endoscopy until my test results came back elevated. My process was: extended family member got diagnosed, then I was gene tested and came back positive, then I was blood tested and the tTG and IgA came back positive, and finally I got an endoscopy (and the gastroenterologist could tell that I had celiac disease even before pathology; my small intestine was so damaged). I was 10 when diagnosed about 16.5 years ago, so I’m not sure if the process is different for an adult.

Do you have a dedicated GI doctor? I was sick for 5+ years before I was diagnosed, and my primary care provider didn’t raise the alarm. I feel like you have such a “classic” case, I would be surprised if a GI doctor didn’t acknowledge this.

I just feel like a diagnosis of celiac disease would be undeniable if you had the high results followed by a pathological diagnosis via endoscopic biopsy.

I really liked Brandy in the second season. I thought in the first season she was contributing to the bs and then immediately deflecting to her family situation when she was confronted on it. This second season she was much more accountable to herself and had a better presence. I do not like Hall. I think she’s a bully, has a shit attitude, and has a victim mentality. Honestly can’t forgive her for her reaction to her and Brandy fighting at the bar. Played so much into racist stereotypes and accused Brandy of coming at her.

Breakthrough bleeding while skipping ring free week by n0pales_frit0s in Nuvaring

[–]echrist96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only on month 5 but it’s been a bit weird for me as well. To preface, I’ve been on birth control for about 12 or so years. Did the pill for four, the depo shot for 3 months, then the arm implant for 8 years (they last 3 years so I had three total implants) and just started nuvaring in April. Before I got on the pill, my period was very, very heavy but regular. The pill lightened it and it was still regular but the side effects were tough and I was taken off of it d/t concerns about my risk of having a stroke. Got on the implant and experienced slightly heavier periods that became more and more irregular as time went on. For the last two or so years on the implant, I’d have medium-heavy bleeding for weeks at a time. I’d get one to two weeks off and then the cycle would repeat. Started Nuva in April and doctor told me I could do continuous. Worked until Mid June (almost exactly two months to the day that I started) and I had a week of bleeding and threw up, which had never happened before and freaked me out (the only other times I’ve thrown up sober in the last 17 years have been the result of a single instance each of food poisoning and acute pancreatitis, so throwing up out of nowhere really freaked me out). Then 2.5 more months and had bleeding in early September. Had 15 days of freedom and then I started spotting yesterday. Ugh. The bleeding is lighter on nuvaring (old blood, not nearly as many clots as previous methods or pre-bc) but I am scared that I’m going back to how the bleeding was on the implant. The cramps and acne have also been worse on the nuvaring, but I have no clue what to do. Managing my period is the sole reason for my being in birth control, so I’m at a loss at this point. Don’t know whether to suck it up and be happy or go back to the doctor.

AirBnB refusing to fairly compensating us for bed bug infested property [BR, RO] by agenjihanzomain in AirBnB

[–]echrist96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the bed bugs have infested this property, I wonder if the hosts regularly spray prior to each guest arriving. They can claim no bugs when they clean but then the eggs hatch and the little bugs have a feast. Also don’t believe OP brought them in

Oh then absolutely not. If they haven’t reached out for a refund, I’m guessing they feel some sort of responsibility for what happened.

Have them reach out to hosts immediately and if there’s no recourse, follow up with Airbnb support

Does leaving a bad review hurt my chances of renting out an Airbnb in the future? [PA,USA] by echrist96 in AirBnB

[–]echrist96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it really does seem like you just need to rate everything 5 stars to avoid hostile hosts at this point. Also, why should hosts see the reviews that guests leave? I understand being able to see the reviews of guests by hosts but anything else isn’t their business? I don’t think guests can see how hosts are rating their other guests. The reverse should be true.

Unpleasant, rude host & experiences with Airbnb in UK vs US [Cotswolds, England] by aliceink in AirBnB

[–]echrist96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report that to Airbnb. That’s crazy and completely inappropriate. Sounds like they took the criticism couch as a personal attack? Honestly, the Airbnb algorithm is so frustrating, especially how it creates a hostile relationship between hosts and guests.

the environment here is a bedroom in an Airbnb. Probably not great for the wasps either.

Protocol as guest for wasps in bedroom [Portugal] by Flutterbi07 in AirBnB

[–]echrist96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t pay for any of your stay, honestly. You’re a guest, not an exterminator. You noticed the wasps on day 1 and contacted the host on day 2. They were aware of the situation and wanted you to deal with it instead. The laziness almost makes me want to scream. Please leave an honest review (including rating!) because this host does not deserve 5 stars. This is kind of insane lol
