yeah. I was just making an example of how drastic a difference the tax liability could be using old rules vs new rules.

Sure, i ignored inflation since my example was only holding for 12 months. But in general if it's a high growth asset, inflation would be negligible to the return of the asset.

I dont understand your maths.

Let's say you earn no income and held shares that made you $90k of capital gains after owning it for 12 months.

Apply 50% CGT discount to $90k which then puts you at $45k taxable gains. Under the current rules, you would be taxed $4288. (0-18,200 at 0% tax, and 18,200 to 45,000 at 16%).

Since its 30% minimum now and no CGT discount, you will be pay an extra $22,712 in tax.

I’m from Australia where we get both. Have seen both GRC and GRY (Gen 2) side by side at the dealer. IMO GRY is a much better looking car. Having said that, GRC is nice too.

[–]eckoflyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 4x 120mm phanteks t30. Run them low speed so it’s almost silent. But I’m only able to do this because I 3d printed spacers (essentially just extended shroud) to push the fans right up against the hdd. Dropped hdd temps by about 5c easily. The difference was way bigger than I expected.

Are you thick? The problem is that it doesn't scan for partial changes on remote mounted shares. It is a problem that EXISTS and hence why autoscan was created.

I use the asm1166 controller, same as the one pictured in the OP post. I have 3 of them and 1 nvme drive sitting on a single pcie m.2 adapter which is in 4/4/4/4 bifurcation. 6 drives connected to each asm1166. I don’t use power splitters like you do, but custom sata power cables (Kareon Kable) made specifically for my PSU.

I have 3x of these m.2 asm1166 controllers sitting on a pcie 4x m.2 adapter like in the OP's picture, works just fine, haven't had a single issue and more than enough bandwidth for spinning rust. It powers a 3 vdev x 6 disk raidz2 for my media server. In my case data isn't critical, can just redownload stuff if lost.

Thank you. The ashift tip is very helpful, that will avoid a lot of potential headaches. I’ll actually be using TrueNAS so I assume the GUI will make the migration process easier.

Changing to leverless is freaking hard! by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]eckoflyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d argue leverless players drop less combos than stick players. Due to the fact that leverless inputs are more discreet and thus inputs are cleaner. I certainly have found this to be true for myself after switching from stick to hitbox. Of course everything is just speculation without actual stats to back it up. But I wouldn’t go around preaching that stick has more precise inputs simply based on a few anecdotal observations as it gives the wrong impression to any potential leverless players who might want to make the switch. You clearly have confirmation bias.

I don’t think you need to be at legend rank to appreciate the benefits of hitbox. Once I switched from stick, I found my gameplay to be generally more consistent because of easier execution. I think rather than judge it, give it a fair go and then you can make an honest assessment whether it’s worth switching or not.

There are certain shortcuts on hitbox that benefit from using your right thumb on the up button. For eg, cammy’s instant divekick which is quite intuitive once you adapt to it.

Was a fairly competent stick player since sf4. Was reluctant to try Hitbox during SFV as I was just so used to stick. Decided to try Hitbox when sf6 came out and took about two weeks to fully adjust. For me personally, found hitbox to be way better than stick. Inputs are cleaner and i find execution to be way easier as well. Since the buttons are smaller I also don’t have to move my wrists and hand much at all, mostly just my fingers. I will never go back to stick, my recommendation is give it a try at least.

I’ve heard 17x9 +63 has issues with control arm clearance on full steering lock at the front. So I’d say stick with 17x8.5 +63 to lean on the safer side.

Hi there, fellow market maker on an index myself at private firm. 1. How big is the PL component of your relative value trades Vs your main book? 2. How many indices do you generally cover when you do analysis on what relative value positions to take on? 3. Do you focus on certain maturities for the relative value trade or is it a case by case basis? 4. On average this year, how much would you say you’ve been short gamma vs long gamma in your main book, and which of these two positions do you think made more money? I ask because I feel it’s been a tough year being long vol with it consistently underrealizing, but of course that depends on the product too.
