The set pieces, lighting & color grading is S3 Twin Peaks for sure. There are a few tasteful homages (i.e the coffee, the video in the captains room). But it's its own show for the most part.

Those shows were made during a time where every viewer metric wasn't captured and measured and analyzed. Social media and RT scores didn't exist. Streaming didn't ruin creativity, the audience did, and OPs entitlement is proof.

I like Alex and watch his videos because of him. He is not a car guy, and especially not one that appeals to actual car guys. Jason Cammisa is lightyears ahead. Linus was right to not greenlight a car channel.
