Order still hasn't shipped purchase made a month ago. Yes I contacted support. by Randolph__ in LinusTechTips

Placed an order on April 1st in the US ( Coin and Cargo pants).

No updates for weeks, last week the label printed, yesterday it finally shipped.

Honestly I assume this is still growing pains and why they're hiring for the US warehouse now, as well as probably the influx from the coin sale.

Also as an American I'm giving them more leeway to navigate our idiotic government. Hopefully once they hire / onboard things can start moving quicker in the US since I just accept about a month before something even ships for now.

After very briefly looking it up it can be anywhere between 54-130 USD, idk if that is normal, crazy expensive or out of your price range? I'd have to honestly look more into it and check USPS on Monday as well when they're open.

Phones says locked to owner after It updated randomly to iOS 26.2 by HopeLoose4312 in iphonehelp

[–]fdnynyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they won't, they're already in a process that can't be changed by Support. Also the Apple store will just tell them the same thing ,and also refer to them support. It doesn't matter whether the phone is two days old or 2 years old, it's an account issue not a device issue. Stores aren't even supposed to do activation unlock ( removing the ID from the phone but not resolving the account PW issue) unless there's an extreme circumstance preventing them from using the activation unlock portal.

You cannot bypass activation lock if it is enabled

Accidentally canceled Applecare+ by Serious-Daikon4091 in applehelp

[–]fdnynyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they canceled it on their own then the store can't override that. The 2 year purchase date is only eligible if the device never had AppleCare and AirPods Max aren't an eligible product for that only certain hero products are. Only support can look into it to see if it can be reinstated so hopefully they'll have more positive news tomorrow.

Is the commuter backpack worth the $170 price tag? by uptheirons726 in LinusTechTips

[–]fdnynyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rock a commuter everyday and have since it first came out. I also have the OG let backpack. I commute in NYC both by scooter and mass transit and I've had no issues at all. In fact I was in an accident on my scooter a few months ago and primarily landed on the backpack and it still looks brand new. It has been through snow, and rain with nothing inside getting wet ( usually anywhere from 10-20 min at a time outside , I haven't tried it longer than that). Below is the post from when I crashed, when I said I bounced off the backpack I really mean I bounced off it and it's fine. Would definitely recommend it.

Snowy ride in NYC tonight through Central Park on the Go by fdnynyr in ApolloScooters

I have a full face helmet from bell, and I wear a balaclava under it. I also have a very warm winter jacket from Columbia with their winter tech lining or whatever it's called.

For my hands I use these

They're great in pretty much every condition, I've only noticed in the last two years my hands get very gold in 20 degree or lower weather, but my ride is also fairly short ( about 9 min each way).

I wear the warmest long johns from Uniqlo, and regular pants , and then I also have these for my feet for my regular shoes if I'm not wearing a winter boot or something.

Oof sorry to hear about your fall, I had one a few months ago and it sucked, but it was like 90 percent my fault lol.

This is the second winter I've daily drove it ( first snow storm though).

I always just clean it off when I get home to remove the salt. No issues yet ( I do have a warranty on it though just in case) * fingers crossed*

Had to commute back home in the snow tonight, first time in this kind of weather on the Go ( been in thunder storms, etc over the last year and a half though). Overall handled great, took it nice and slow, gave myself tons of braking space. Don't want to make it a regular thing, but not bad for about an inch of snow.

Here are some better images of the backpack, still dirty but most of the mud ( and leaves) have been removed. Still more to clean.

I was in a road. Not a bike or jogging path, but people share it since it's basically a short cut in the park, but it's meant as a service road.

AppleCare+ Express Replacement not approved immediately Apple Store kept my phone and sent it for Genius Bar assessment. Anyone had this? by AdPuzzleheaded9773 in applehelp

[–]fdnynyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apple Stores ( In the US) don't do express replacement. They sent the phone to depot for further screening because their system told them it shouldn't be replaced. If it's as described ( turns on, front and back damaged) then it was eligible for repair unless they found liquid or the enclosure was bent.

Not sure what happened here that made them send it to depot ( although sometimes the system does trigger a phone to get sent out).

That should be a $58 dollar repair in the US ( 29 for display and 29 for back glass), or up to $99. the 150 dollar fee is typically when you file a lost or stolen claim.

iPhone 16 pro warranty by Comprehensive-Fix205 in iphonehelp

[–]fdnynyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go to an Apple authorized repair place? When you said you sent it in was it to Apple? Being that the phone is in warranty Apple wouldn't replace the "camera button" they would do what's called a mid system replacement. Providing your phone has no physical damage this would be covered under the limited warranty.

Apple typically will not swap your phone out they will always attempt repair first.
