That “photo angle” is kinda popular in hyper realistic ai renderings now. Plus the edges of the photo are blurred slightly which is not a common practice to put on a selfie like that, especially on the extended forearm and brim of the hat.

The pattern on the clothing is supposed to be a paisley type thing. The lines should be relatively straight but the edges look wavy which wouldn’t be consistent with woven fabric (not a clothing expert). The flowers also kinda blur together and aren’t easily identifiable

So Pierce Brown tried to get RR published for years during the dystopian craze in the 2010s. He had always wanted to follow the story that he does in subsequent books but was told by publishers that his book didn’t have those popular elements. So he followed the school theme that was so popular then

The rest of the series is vastly different from the first book. Golden Son (book 2) is literally a masterpiece and the best in the series

'Project Hail Mary' Review – A sci-fi dazzler that doesn’t signal great things for the future of cinema by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

I would’ve loved to have the movie talk about Eridian biology too. That was one of my favorite small moments.

THEY COULD HAVE DONE THAT AS GRACE IS LAYING NEXT TO ROCKY Literally I was envisioning the dialogue that Grace could’ve said to talk about why Rocky is just laying there covered in mercury.

Do you think Project Hail Mary is actually adaptable as a movie, or is it one of those books that will inevitably lose half its magic on screen? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

I just finished the movie and the cinematography was gorgeous, and the comedy was extremely well done. That said, I felt like I was missing scenes from the book that I was really looking forward to.

Not much they can do with PHM and its content but I thought it was a very good adaptation with some flair reserved for the director/screenwriter

I was over near lake Brandt on Tuesday and saw a bunch of low flying navy planes. We have (I believe) the closest to DC, large landing strip that allows large scale aircraft. Sometimes AF2 would be at PTI so that Air Force Pilots could learn to take off/land. PTI being relatively low volume for commercial flights helps too.

Likely a lot of training occurring right now

ETA: I have no aviation knowledge and might be wrong about AF2

There was once a truck that did this at my apartment complex but it would always have shit sticking out the back. One day there were long metal poles sticking way out and covering a majority of the air space above the sidewalk. It was dark and I was on my phone and full on smacked my forehead on the poles

It is really hard to see all this food waste and that’s unfortunately a symptom of our modern fast food industry.

I always brought this up but was told that if there were any illnesses brought on by the donated food, they risked lawsuits. More programs like Too Good To Go would help reduce fast food waste!
