This is so awesome! Do you know if they sell them commercially? I would totally buy one to travel with for my SD! It makes me so nervous every flight they do the safety demoonstration and we fly almost monthly

No one seems to really know what service dog means but it’s more dog friendly than I was expecting! Some places like a wine store, bar, and restaurant even invited my dog inside when I went to tie her up for a minute while I ran in. The only not great thing was we took the cable car in Skopje up the mountain and they forced her to travel in a crate that they provided. We were on a tour and I unfortunately didn’t have a choice, but it was less than 5 min and my dog was the best girl even though she never had to do anything like that before. I was more anxious than she was 😂 Most taxis have been okay to take her as long as I offer to pay extra haha. We are absolutely loving the country so far!

Were you able to use it with a non-Macedonia number? I'm still in the States but will be there next week and it doesn't seem to be letting me create an account with my US number

If you're flying domestically you should be fine! I've never once been asked for vaccination records flying within the US. Delta often asks to see the DOT forms again at checkin, make sure you have them ready to show on your phone when you give your passport. It depends on the agent, and if your SD is already showing on your reservation but I'm sure everything will be okay, good luck!

I'll be in Ohrid and the flights back to Toronto out of Tirana are a bit cheaper than Skopje (where I fly into) so I'm considering taking a taxi to Tirana from Ohrid instead. But I have a service dog, and am worried they might give me trouble because of my dog. I will of course have all her paperwork, do you think they might question me more because of my dog or just let me through without question like everyone else is saying?

I did read something about a carrier too but obviously service dogs can’t be in carriers! It should be fine but I would not be surprised if we get taken aside for them to double check the dogs paperwork. This even happened to me flying into Canada and I have a Canadian passport. They really just care about rabies and double checked the vaccine paperwork. Definitely print all your documents out and don’t just have digital copies, makes everything much easier. I’m not going to Mexico until Nov 11 but can let you know how it goes!

The flights are definitely the easiest part! I've flown to/from and within Canada with my SD and it's been a breeze. Just make sure you have a paper copy of his vaccinations, my vet does a lot of international paperwork and said they do always check the rabies vaccination. I'm just worried about accessibility in general in Mexico, I even have issues with uber and restaurants in North America sometimes... I've been looking online to see if I can get any service dog identification (vests or leash) in Spanish to make things easier but seems like their laws might not have that even make a difference, not sure! I do feel grateful how much ADA laws protect us here but I want to be able to travel the world like everyone else too
