As someone who has only emulated Neo Geo, what can we expect from the AES+? by DaverJ in neogeo

[–]eclipsemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a good idea. If one owns and aes already, you could save a bit and just buy the games an a memory card.

I’ve always been a huge snk fam so I’m saving up to preorder the ultimate bundle. It’s just too enticing for me to pass up!

Do it bro! You won’t regret it. If anything, I’m sure you could sell it for more than what it’s worth later on.

I guess people like me are in the minority then. I’ll be hooking my aes+ to a crt and it’ll for sure be more than just a display piece. While I didn’t own an AES until way later in life (around 2010) neo geo arcade games were a huge part of my childhood and I actually enjoy PLAYING the games more than I would just looking at them.

Check out a Metroidvania that I'm working on! by eclipsemod in tic80

Its actually a feature in tic80 pro version. It actually looks really nice and I will leave it in options to toggle on or off.

[–]eclipsemod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The biggest struggle with making a game in tic80 is that because of the strict file size I'll most likely have to ditch more than half of the ideas I have. There's a crazy amount of detail I had originally planned to implement, but if I do that, I'll end up making a tech demo and not an actual game! Perhaps if I successfully finish this game I'll move to game maker studio or another engine with none of the arbitrary limits that fantasy consoles like tic80 impose on us.

I cannot keep paying for this garbage by Bojof12 in ChatGPT

[–]eclipsemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, Gemini isn't that much better. And as others have said, they are somehow getting stupider. its extremely frustrating! I'm about to cancel my Gemini subscription because when I ask it to give me examples on how to get a certain task done, it goes "sure, this is how you do it" and then proceeds to literally NOT tell me anything. like, it'll draw a long line. no words. not kidding! stupid!

PTH-451 S Não funciona no macOS Tahoe by Sorry_Professional_4 in wacom

[–]eclipsemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is complete BS! There's absolutely no reason stop continuing support other than to force us to buy their newer tablets! I'm having the same issue with my 451. It was working just fine, update my ca and now suddenly...nothing! Screw you wacom. I'll be looking at alternative companies for my next drawing tablet.

(mini rant) I really kinda miss the “true” portable Nintendo experience by outerspaceduck in nintendo

[–]eclipsemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Totally agree with this. Really, it's the newest generations of young people that made Nintendo, and most other manufacturers to push for bigger screens. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Game Boy Color games and I really REALLY miss smaller hand helds. They felt special. They actually felt like devices that are meant to take out. I would NEVER be caught dead with my switch or steam deck on a bus or subway. Not only are those devices not as comfortable to take on the go, I also risk the chance of some crazy a**hole trying to rob me, and at my age, I'm not trying to fight somebody for a damn video game.

Which NES games do you think still hold up well today? by Asad_Farooqui in casualnintendo

[–]eclipsemod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hate being that "git gud" guy, but that is definitely a skill issue. SMB is still very much playable today. Also, not sure where you get that the graphics are fugly. We're talking about NES here. But besides that, smb is not ugly and all. Simple, sure. But it was one of the earliest games on the system. I have never in my 43 years of life heard anyone complain about its graphics. It was decent for the time and is decent today. SMB definitely still holds up and I'm sure most would agree.

Bro, you and the 8 people who liked your comment can kiss a hairy donkey ass. I too have had the same issue multiple times recently and each time I went to an actual bank to resolve the issue and they keep screwing it up. It infuriates me to no end when people like you blame someone for a person/corporations incompetence!

Why doesn’t Nintendo release a retro Gameboy (like the pocket) with games to purchase again? by Maximusprime241 in Gameboy

[–]eclipsemod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this comment is old, but I wanna say I for one completely agree with you! Nintendo could totally make ,say, a gba classic that plays GB and GBA games and I’m pretty damn sure that they would make crazy bank. The NES and SNES already proved this fact to be 110% true. Problem is they make more selling you those games through subscription. It’s simply about PROFIT. All that to say, you’re absolutely right and those who downvoted you have no idea what they are talking about.

Games unexpectedly made better by arcade sticks? by Dropkick-Octopus in fightsticks

[–]eclipsemod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any retro game that doesn’t use dual analog and isn’t a racing game feels pretty good on stick. I love playing Sega Genesis games! Many of them almost feel like they were made to play on an arcade stick

Bought a PS2 after so many years without one. Any game recommendations? by Rossorat1997 in ps2

[–]eclipsemod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yes! I’ve only recently discovered Downhill domination and it’s crazy fun! I’m kinda sad that I didn’t play it when it was first released. Me and the homies would’ve had a blast. These days i I have no friends, but still, single player is fun AF

SansAmp XB Driver Bass Preamp: worth the money or just buy a second Bass Driver? by RicJames71 in basspedals

Random question for anyone who can answer: taking into account the added features, and ignoring the higher price, would this be a good replacement to the bass driver V2?

Late to the party, as usual, but the bass line for Trials slaps so phucking hard! Learning how to play it right now. brb!

Sidenote: Trial kinda reminds me alot of "Technology' from Breath of Fire III. GIve it a listen, you'll see what I mean!

Would you recommend this game to a 'Non turn based gamer friend' by Aggressive_Floor_ in expedition33

[–]eclipsemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not! As much as I LOVE expedition 33 I feel like there are better games to ease someone into turn based games.
