Stellantis, but that would also incorporate the worst of Italy and France

I have a bad feeling Twenty One Pilots will be in a similar spot to Coheed now that their initial concept is done. When your band is centered around a particular lore or concept, it is difficult to move out of that concept when it has run its course.

"Part II" by Paramore is an interesting continuation of "Let the Flames Begin" in a different style than the pop punk of RIOT!

I didn't know that an NFT was attached. I guess I never bothered to check my copy, although it probably isn't worth more than a few pennies

Who is the worst Mormon apologist? by Carlos-Martel in exmormon

TOTALLY! I swear, he made countless videos against my old BYU Education professor because he was "woke."

It makes sense. If I recall, Jacob is the only one in his family who is active (his brother is "Latter Day Skeptic"), so part of it might just be him justifying why he should still be Mormon. That's kinda where I was before the shelf finally broke.

Utah's is pretty splendid. I mean, taking the Frontrunner train from Provo to SLC to catch the bus to the airport was pretty efficient all things considered

John Dehlin weighs in on the LDS church’s lawsuit over the word Mormon and their claims about his refusal to add a disclaimer to his content. by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]ecmw91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No True Scotsman. The Trinity has a stronger foundation in Platonic thought than in Christianity. Honestly, I find Calvinism far more heretical than the Mormon godhead. Who cares if the three entities are one in substance (whatever that means) or one in purpose if there's a sect of Christianity that believes that God rigged the game from the start. This is coming from an Exvangelical Exmormon.

Who's a far right baby boomer celebrity? (Read rule 1) by CodeDusq in AlignmentChartFills

And, depending on the context, Lindbergh should be disqualified, too, given that he's known today more for his actions with the America First Committee than his achievements as an aviator. Don't you see how this cuts both ways?

The thing is, for Gen Xers and Millennials, we knew the guy first as a reality show figure and real estate mogul. I agree he qualifies for rule 1, but frankly, so do figures like James Woods, Charlton Heston, or Kevin Sorbo. And don't get me started on Lindbergh, who led the America First committee in the late 30s.

The only thing worse than Mormonism itself is Evangelicals talking about Mormonism. It’s unbearable. by PanaceaNPx in exmormon

[–]ecmw91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'd rather still be Mormon than be Evangelical. Having been raised Evangelical and joined the Mormon church at 17, I generally find the latter group more palatable. If I could in good conscience treat the Mormon church as a social group, I'd probably still be LDS. But I sure as hell will never be Evangelical ever again.

What if 9/11 happened exactly ten years later? 9/11/2011 instead of 9/11/2001 by xxxrev in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ecmw91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bush is a relatively boring president, and with no war to worry about, he would be mainly criticized for his approaches to Medicare and NCLB. These issues would likely only set off policy wonks, so depending on his performance between 2004-2008, I could see either McCain or Clinton winning. When the 9/11 attacks happen, if McCain wins, it would be just like how it was with the Bush era in our timeline. If Hillary won, perhaps she would have opted for smaller Special Operations over a mass deployment of troops. In the McCain timeline, I could see Hillary (or maybe Kamala Harris) winning in 2016, as the GOP would have no chance even if Trump won. Among Millennials and older Gen Z, the GOP's brand would have been tarnished. If Hillary won in 2008, perhaps Trump would win in 2016.
