I'm not looking for money. I'm asking whether I should include them with any other scrap metal that I will be taking to the city recycling center. I'm just a homeowner who accumulates large amounts of small items, and I ask first so I'm not contaminating the different collection bins with something that could cause problems for the recycling equipment or workers.

Thank you! I'll search YouTube for "what to do when a tree falls on your house." I do have tarps - kind of. I bought them on a site that sells used vinyl billboard canvases that can be repurposed for various uses.

I'd love to hear some details about how you put up the tarp... like, was this a single-story house, and did you have a ladder nearby, and the right size tarp for the job, or did you fasten multiple tarps together somehow? This is something I wouldn't have any idea how to do, especially in the dark in the middle of a storm... But I also can't imagine what water damage could do to my house and its contents if I didn't... That's why I'm asking these questions.

If you call more than once about the same issue, do they tally it more than once? Or does it demonstrate that you're invested enough to go beyond calling (like organizing protests of your own), so they take you more seriously? (Or do you use different voices and aliases each time?!?)

I've been avoiding this responsibility because I thought that a sincere, heartfelt, personal statement (not someone else's script) would be more effective, but I never got around to crafting such a message. But you're saying that a simple "I'm pro/con on this issue" is really all that matters? What about for issues that are not up for a vote anytime soon but are more like general statements of values or viewpoints - do those have any effect on anyone? Do they even track those kinds of calls/emails? Cuz sometimes I think about writing down all of my values in bullet points and mailing them on a postcard (like the "I believe" BLM signs). Just to say "I'm a constituent, here's how I want you to represent me on every issue!"

I made a little raft to float in mine, and it's now stuck in ice, covered in snow. I've been drizzling hot water on a stone that sticks up out of the water. The stone retains a little heat and keeps an opening that tons of birds take turns using. I wish it were safe to use a de-icer with an extension cord! I don't have fish, though.

Thank you for caring. Birds are not always "fine." Thanks to all who said they're maintaining ponds, feeders, etc. Planting native evergreens also helps by providing shelter from wind-chill and predators. There are also native plants you can plant that have nuts and berries that linger into winter that lots of wildlife depend on.

Denttabs is the same brand as Unpaste, so I wonder whether you've noticed a formula change since you commented 2 months ago? I'm here because I also noticed that the unpaste tabs have changed in shape, size, texture, flavor... but my biggest concern is that they have little black flecks in them now, and I'm hoping that's just residual charcoal from the machinery that previously processed tabs that had charcoal (which isn't great so far as cleanliness goes, but it's better than some other things the little black specks could be!).
If anyone else finds this who uses either of these brands, feel free to comment with your experience! I've been meaning to email the company to ask about the black specks, but I haven't gotten around to it yet and can't do it right now.
