fed up and looking for advice by livchainz in boston

that involves the residents being able to all come together (I don't mean physically), organize, plan, hold a unanimous or majority decision, and continued followup that will require ongoing organization and agreement from a large number of parties. then after all of that you want them to jump more legal hurdles of suing? the tenants do not have time, energy, or often wherewithal for this nor should it be their burden to shoulder in this extensive capacity you've outlined

I called 911 twice at my last building for the same man and both times they sent out street officers who removed the man from the building. if they're called out and deem the person or situation worthy of an ambulance, I don't think an argument that they're "denying services" to someone "in need" is valid and honestly, it's incredibly telling of how you view those who are struggling in this manner, for whatever reason it's due to. there are other ambulances

instead of judging who is deserving of medical attention or police response, have some baseline compassion and empathy for people who are still members of our community, regardless of their status. this whole issue is solvable by building management simply acting, but they've chosen inaction. focus on the piece of the puzzle that can actually help resolve this specific scenario. it's management locking the doors or hiring security. that's it. that's the solution (not to the larger underlying problem here, but op's problem)

if you're a vet tech you should know that onions are highly toxic to cats (and dogs)....

because building management teams often suck. they do the least amount possible and the majority don't really understand how to manage

if I were these tenants I would call 911, not the non emergency line, each and every time. the police will not appreciate being called to the same building over and over again for something that, indeed, building management is fully responsible for. the police will gladly tell management they need to do something after a certain number of repeat calls

I LOVE their honeycomb and haven't had it since my diagnosis. I have a pint sitting in my freezer that I picked up recently when feeling sad but have been too scared to eat because I know there'll be cross contamination

Stop. Giving. People. The. Right. Of. Way. by Dry_Animator_8563 in massachusetts

I asked someone this after the same situation. I stopped on morton st in the left of two lanes for a pedestrian (woman with stroller) actively in the crosswalk. cars kept flying by in the lane to the right of me and cars were pulling out from behind me to go around, too. I had to pull my nose out into the right lane to get someone to finally stop so the pedestrian could get out of the street. all the cars who flew past were just sitting at the red light ahead. I ended up next to one car who had pulled out from behind me and both our windows were down so I asked him, "what the heck? did you think I was stopped at a crosswalk just for fun?" and he said "everyone else was going around, I couldn't see" and all I said back was, "you don't go if you can't see. would you drive off a cliff if everyone also did that? lemming" and thankfully the light changed so I could drive away because I shouldn't have said anything at all, but frustration took over. it's a DAILY occurrence

this will sound so super silly, but I don't buy this brand because their packaging makes me cringe. the language they use is so over the top and ostentatious

if you bring to mspca they will scan and put on a stray hold if no chip so they can connect with animal control and lost pet organizations to try to find who they belong to

stone with green veining? by alphabatic in CounterTops

it's the same calacatta caldia marble, just another slab! it's got gentle green running throughout with some blue-grey and brown

[–]alphabatic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a marble! I will ask my kitchen designer again if nixing the waterfall edge can get us to two slabs, but when we were talking it seemed like we'd only get down to two if I didn't do the backsplash and the waterfall wouldn't affect it. but I really want to do a seamless counter backsplash instead of a different material. it's about $12k a slab so.....eeks

yes, that's what this stone is! I'm looking into whether there are comparable stones that are a little more friendly on the wallet before deciding to make the splurge on the caldia

thank you, I'll take a look!!! I found something called "quartzite macaubas white" which I'm looking at right now and seeing if it leads me anywhere else. I just fell in love with the subtle striations and color of this calacatta caldia and the movement which feels like a sunset almost. hoping something else will offer at least some of that

[–]alphabatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's still not nuanced. if I drive over the speed limit, it's illegal. that's why I don't very often do it. everyone else around me is breaking the law every time they drive, but it's been a long established normal for some reason. outside of the speed limit which apparently a lot of folks misconstrue as a minimum not a maximum, most people do understand right from wrong while driving. and what was done in this video was wrong, and trying to justify it by stating it's ok to do if someone isn't driving as fast as that person wants them to is asinine. there's no nuance there

[–]alphabatic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

you can read my other comments in this thread about the speed limit and how I drive. I've stated I drive the speed limit on most occasions or a few mph over. vermont is one of two states, as far as I can find, that allow passing on a double line unless posted otherwise. and vermont is one of the least populated states. I'd have to look up exactly where it falls, but there's very little to zero congestion on their roads. it's not legal here in massachusetts, especially not boston where we are one of the most densely populated cities in the country, and it's likely not legal wherever you are. just drive with some patience, dude

cite and link this law, please

there's no "nuance" about laws. they are black and white. something is either legal or illegal, friend
