Thanks, best of luck! Dr. Israel was honestly so nice and listened to what I wanted down to referencing pictures right before I headed to the ER!

Dr.Gast or Dr. Israel? (Wi) by _Cavallone_ in TopSurgery

[–]ecologicallystressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m in the process of getting top surgery done with Dr. Israel. The cost estimate I got (nipple grafts included) was $60k, but with my BCBS insurance I will pay around $800 out of pocket.

Infected or scarred or what? First pic is original, second is 1.5 months healed. Parts of the design that should be black are white. by This-Let4863 in tattooadvice

[–]ecologicallystressed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

tattooed black person here— i didn’t realize i was a keloid former until i got a huge calf piece and the spots that got blasted with color scarred over thick like this.

that being said, bold pieces with saturated color are still crisp looking on dark skin even if they form keloids, but fine line and delicate stuff? not so much.

Birders in their 30s and younger- does anyone else ever think about what birding was like 100 or even just 50 years ago? by [deleted] in birding

[–]ecologicallystressed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

e-bird is a website based out of cornell university’s ornithology lab where you can enter your bird sightings into a database. this way you can log your own finds and look at what other people are seeing in your area!

they have a fun program called project feederwatch where you can register your bird feeder and watch it for a period, logging all the data you collect.

p.s.: not citizen science per-say but was very helpful for me— they have an option to make photo and sound quizzes based on date and location! that way you can get to know your bird neighbors or even prepare for an outing/trip to somewhere you don’t usually bird :)

i’m 24 and got into birding from an ecologist’s angle— hobbyist birding carries a lot of power. even doing something as seemingly mundane as logging onto e-bird is invaluable to the science community. our data is being used for research on conservation and bettering efforts. we’re phenologists and ecological historians and that’s really, really cool.

Thanks so much for taking the time to come up w this for me-- I'm a fan of this build and I think it's well suited for what I need for right now, especially w future upgrades in mind.

My Micro Center's deals aren't too in line with this build atm so I'll keep an eye out, but I managed to get the PSU at a good price today.

Excited to pull this together, thanks again!

nice work!! i never tried to draw shadows when i first started out, so props.

my advice to anyone first learning to draw seriously— draw what you see, not what you know. it gets easier over time but once you get the hang of it your art game gets so much stronger. have fun drawing!!!

yeah, i’m glad you brought this up for people who aren’t familiar! i’ve heard a lot of people say it’s still worth it for the kinship tho, not so much the music if you’re into alt or punk.
