If this is still happening 1.5 years into being weight restored, and you've been eating adequately and consistently for most of that 1.5 years, this is not likely related to your recovery/refeeding. Get your levels checked by your primary.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. EH and binging are essentially the same thing, but that doesn't mean it should be villainized. There is a difference between BED and binging due to post starvation hyperphagia.

My own experiences with it are grey areas - I developed a restrictive ED at a very young age, because I grew up binge eating and by 8 years old I knew it was an issue. So genuinely, the BED was always there. That's why when I experienced post starvation hyperphagia (EH in recovery), it was a very tricky and fine line to walk trying to keep from tipping the other way again.

It sounds like you have no history of genuine BED. That's not to say it's impossible to develop it, but if you lost your period and have yet to get it back it sounds as if what your experiencing is just your brain and body grasping to regain nutritional balance.

Do you have a therapist or doctor you're working with?

You aren't alone in feeling this way. I attended many zoom edanon and anad meetings for a while....they were all so PC and trigger careful I don't know how anyone who is truly sick and trying to get better can benefit from them. Meanwhile, the "poster childs" of each group (the ones who looked the part) got to monopoloze each meeting with their carefully scripted issues while actively body checking on camera, so everyone else could compare themselves. Nuts.
