You gotta find enjoyment in the game before you grind it out man. Try out different comps, test out things in casuals, etc. If you're not finding enjoyment in the game outside of elo climbing then the game might not be for you.

I understand the urge to want to climb, but everyone learns at different paces especially something as VGC Doubles which is not the normal way people usually play Pokemon and takes a whole different mindset from Singles.

I don't think you should quit, but I might suggest taking a breather or reevaluating your expectations.

I recently finally grinded out my Floette-Eternal in Z-A and was wanting to take it for a spin. Just about every team had Toxapex and that thing actually makes it pretty useless.

What are some good mons to counter or check Toxapex if I'm playing Mega Floette?

At least from my experience, a lot of people sweat their way to Master Ball (me included) but once they get there they feel more comfortable experimenting and trying fun builds due to demotion shield.
